Speaking of x-tops, has anyone noticed The Wood Room hasn't changed for quite a while? (Not that I sit there refreshing it every day to check if there is a nice top I want... um, no of course not... noone would do that would they?)
I used to stalk it heavily. I noticed it never really changed and if I asked a dealer about a top I saw, it was already spoken for.
I’ve noticed too. From what I’ve been made to understand, there isn’t a fully established protocol to get a top of your choice. Part and parcel of the sheer number of outstanding orders. New wood stock comes as it comes, and there isn’t a big effort to keep an equal supply of the various species on hand. Certain dealers have tops reserved for builds, others were claimed a year or two ago. There’s a possibility that you can see what’s available when your build slot comes up.
I have maybe 3 species I may consider for a top for my upcoming Z. If nothing comes up that speaks to me in a mighty way, I’d be OK with a solid color or maybe a vertical fade. I’m not burdened with many first world problems, but that’s one of them.

Yup. He did my ABII's 6-way switching and completely redid "Violet," my black 1987 MIJ Fender Jazz Fretless (new nut, refinished fingerboard, Nordstrand pickups/preamp--EMGs had been in there since 1989, a "real" battery compartment, new paint). Very happy with his work.

Seriously… only thing though is the one in my dream was a weird ass, well built knock off with parallel frets. The owners of the shop I was in looking at it were pissed at the employee who took it in on trade. … haha. Dreams.

How often do pots and electronics start to become scratchy on basses?
I never had that happen and I've owned a few used basses. This is my first foray into that kind of a problem and it just happened with my AB II.
I plugged it in earlier and tried to play plugged in but it's impossible. Scratchy volume pot, puppy selector and any small movement makes the bass crackle/kill the volume completely.

I agree. @Katoosie mentioned this before as well and it sounds like it’s gone from bad to worse. Maybe time for some new electronics but in the meantime is it possible to limp in passive or do you experience that volume drop?
Obvious question, Have you changed the battery?

It's very dry at my place now due to the heater and ventilation but yeah. Could have been from before
I have! It's been barely played and it's just a month or two old - same stuff happens in passive mode as well. The battery has a sticker with a date on it, so I don't think that's it.
Are the pots easily replaceable on the glock if needed? What about the puppy selector?
It’s very unlikely that all of your controls would go bad at once - unless the controls got soaked in salt water. More likely a wire has come loose or a solder joint has gone bad. I recommend taking it to a skilled electronics tech. Good electronics techs will use there eyes and ears to track down a bad connection.

New Dingwall owner, just picked up this NG3 on Friday, completely enjoying this thing. Can't wait to try out a Canadian built Dingwall... anyways Can I join? Here's my new (to me) NG3.
