You might be able to source one from Dingwall, it is literally just a bit of 3m type vinyl though so you could cut your own for $2 . The decal shouldn’t have any effect on the finish (I had vinyl racing stripes on my Combustion for years and took them off no issues) but all paint fades eventually in the sunlight so if you keep it for 30 years and decide to take the sticker off there will be a colour difference
I don't know about retrofitting, but I've had a few Dingwalls with the switches. I enjoy having the flexibility, especially with my bass being passive.
A majority of my playing is on the neck/bridge with the pickup switches in series.
I'll switch one (usually the middle) or both to parallel if I'm using two pickups that are next to each other.
I have a custom 6 way switch, so I have options for neck/mid and mid/bridge.
I see the term "ABHS" often. What does this stand for? Afterburner.......Hot Sandwich? Helter Skelter?
Speaking of series/parallel wiring on pickups. Does anyone know how the Combustion's Neck/Middle/Bridge are wired individually?

The switches can be retrofit but like it has been shared, it’s probably best for very competent professionals (drilling holes, tight space to work in).
I have considered getting switches added to my Z but I am not sure. I am likely to change to 6 pickup options at some point and that would be the best time to add the switches.

Too bad the previous owner didn't send you the pick guard. Personally, the all black looks cool. I purchased my first Dingwall a couple of months ago. A D-Roc 5-er in the black scheme. Love it. Enjoy the bass!
I peeled the stickers off my Dbird, no regrets. That black Droc looks great without the graphic.
Maybe spiff it up with some fret illusion blocks, double down on the stealth black look.
About $12 and easily removable. Also super easy to install, don’t even need to remove the strings.

My guess is it's actually a DiNoc series material (3M)....it's a thicker more rigid type material (which would make more sense being abused by picks and finger nails). It 'shouldn't' affect the painted surface - but like anything else, the longer it's on, the more risk.
I do know a few years ago, I played one in a retail store and the pick guard was lifting on a new bass- and of course being in the graphics biz for 30yrs, I could tell it was about to be a problem for the new owner. Hopefully nobody else is having edge peeling up on theirs. Most bigger sign shops should have DiNoc ...it is not cheap. You could really get into some cool types of it as well - they have wood styles, stone, solid colours, etc
Once you peel it off it’s basically destroyed, it’s not meant to be removable.
Your control cavity should have the space for the switches being a standard CNC sized cavity and a standard control layout. I think dingwall sells them as a set. They are a useful tools if you like options on the bass.

Mostly on ABs But there was a few PZs that made it to existence. I don’t recall why we haven’t seen anymore in recent years but I do think it led to neck dive on the P.
Right. Not sure what I was thinking. Had it in my head is was a hard plastic even though I have 2 D-Rocs and I know they aren't.
I've used 3m and criket vinyl on multiple matte black bases. To include my Droc after I removed the sticker and cut out my own using a dark bronze. The adhesive will protect the part underneath just like the white sticker. It'll peel right off. I've sticker bombed basses and removed them and sold the basses. All I had to do was use some matte fininish cleaner and a rag to give it a good buffing and you couldn't tell there was ever anything there. I wish they'd sell a solid piece like they do for the customs ....
Or if someone with a custom would be kind enough to send one to a pick guard maker so we can buy one
