Nah, just a basic combo. Its a cheap space. My rig will be way better than whatever they got. Ebs 120 combo. Will the rehearsal space have multiple cabs you could try?

Gotcha. Some spaces I’ve been to will have for example a 410,810,crappy 115 or like 210/115. Things like that. It’s a good way to help learn what you like about different speaker sizes and what not. Of course it’s not super great representation if none of the cabs are the actual make and model you’re looking for. Still helpful to explore though.Nah, just a basic combo. Its a cheap space. Either the bass in the reference photo was a burst to gray or the top wasn't bleached. Burl tends to be pretty gray without bleaching. Irregardless of the written spec and what the owner of that bass recalled, it's kind of surprising to see such a blatant difference between the reference and the delivered spec. I suppose it goes along with ordering unusual or atypical finishes, and at least Dingwall has made it right for those who were not happy with the final product, unlike Kiesel who will publicly lambast someone because they edit their photos for the website so much that in person, none of the instruments match the website.but what was saying is your Too is purple to natural.
That other bass is Purple to grey top.
We are going to be renting a rehearsal with gear but I wanna schlep my own thing. Kinda wanna have "my sound" with me whereever we go plus I'll be taking my rig with me to every gig anyway. Kinda want to get into that of mindstate of always having my rig and backup. Also, I'm new to playing live with people so what do I know![]()

Roughly every 5 minutes or so.How often do you all refresh the page with the tracking number when your new bass is incoming?
I live in an apartment complex with keyfob front entry, so sometimes UPS just says heck it and leaves a "Delivery Attempt" slip if the office doesn't buzz them in within 0.00001 seconds of them ringing the buzzer. I think from now on, I'll redirect UPS deliveries to the UPS Store a couple blocks away.
If they do get in the building, they either deliver (a) straight to my door, (b) to the package locker, or (c) to the office so I never know what's going to happen!
I'm refreshing about every 10-15 minutes when work isn't distracting me from what's really important.
I'm not picky at all when it comes to cabs. My experience is limited but I've played thru a small 8, a 10 and a 2x12. I sound like me on every speaker so yeah.Gotcha. Ie my berg HDN212 vs my Subway 212 are incredibly different cabs. Both are deadly as all heck but have very different sound.
if you could take your head to a GR dealer I’d do that and run different combos and stand alone cabs.
ie of the 3 Mesa “small” cabs the 115 seems to be the dominator of power and versatility BUT if you want more “honk” the 112 may be the sound your after. More quickness of attack maybe the 210?

Thank you! It's my first band and totally not in my genre but as the worst musician in the room, I stand to gain a lot. I've already learned so much and the hang is great. They're very kind to me. Music is good and fun, too. We can be creative and that's so fun.I usually bring my own rig to the paid rehearsal spots we use as well. They have gear there, but it's always a crapshoot on whether it will be what you expect when you get in the room. I'd rather lug a few things than lose focus in rehearsal because i'm playing through a terrible setup. The IEM stuff is so rad though.. having MY mix in my head, going right to my brain.. my bass sounds so good just being fed right into my soul.
Also, congrats on the new gig! There's almost nothing more satisfying to me than playing live music with a group. No matter how far you guys decide to take the project, always make sure you are having fun.. Having a positive outlook works wonders in a group setting, lol. Musicians are some wierd freaking people.... ask me how I know

Honestly, for all the gear talk and GAS and endless flipping, the most important gear for making music are the friends we make along the way.Thank you! I noticed that the other day. Looks like a recent revamp of the site and offerings.I have a Super J 4. I notice on the Payson website he is now offering strings whereby you can mix and match gages for a custom set. Anybody try them?
Thank goodness it's string deficient for me!I can't afford this, but I still I need someone else to buy it and get it off the temptation list:

Dunno if the owner will ship, but I'll gladly help a fellow Dingwall nerd if someone non-local wants it (but jeez it would look so nice next to my Capri Orange Super P).
I had to look up the Capo. It looks like a neat pre, but I don't think it offers anything over my AxeFx setup. Sounds pretty good though!I'm so glad my main gig is on IEMs. Just for the hearing I save in rehearsal alone!
I was doing the same thing running my D800+ into the IEM rig, but I ended up replacing that with a Jad Freer Capo. Another magic little box.

I have it in my head for some reason that Supers tend to move through faster than ABs and Zs. Can't wait to see it alongside your SJ though!!It's been 142 days since I place my SP order. Only a quick 589'ish days to go if the 2-year estimates have been holding. That'll go quickly, right?![]()
