I wanted a D tuner for my SP1 four string and Dingwall tech support said it would involve a lot of machining to get it to work. There’s very little surface around the E string tuner. Bummer, but makes sense.

Possibly this? I think I got mine included from bass direct. The one I have is the same AB Nate has.
(Clover tuner)

Very strange from tech support unless the imports have a different tuner configuration?

I can’t speak for bass but I know you have to be careful buying them for guitar but the post depth sometimes won’t have enough clearance to get a string thru without some mods.

They do. Tuners are very different.

Almost a lollipop, and two screws. Maybe you can put Hipshot ultralites instead, but I'm thinking there will be some drilling required and some exposed holes.

I'm really on the fence about what I might want to do. I have my old blue AB1 that I just really don't play any more. It's not bad, or having any kind of problem, it just doesn't get played.
I also have my AB1 6 string which I do play a handful of times a week, but, it's not something I super love, mostly due to the neck and well, how the Neve has super changed my mind on what preamp I want in my bass.

So part of me is considering selling both of those, seeing if the person who's borrowing my Combustion (for almost a year now, lol) wants to buy it... and find a Z3 6 string with a Neve.

The headless would be neat, but I'd really need to try one to see how it feels compared to a Z. If it leans more towards AB, I'm sure it'll be sweet, but just not my thing.

Premonition?
Not likely.
In the dream it didn’t belong to me so…. Maybe that’s the premonition? -It won’t belong to me when I experience it in person.

I’m on crutches right now and logging considerably more play time(at home). I had a nice session last night with my dark ABZ and so maybe that was a major impact.

Got in the queue for my first custom. Leaning very heavily towards a Super PJ, sure both would sound great but anybody have an opinion on a Super Fatty vs FDV in the bridge?

I have FDVs in my Combustion so I kind of get the just of its character minus the scale length.

I no longer have a bridge solo option on either my SJ5XXX or my SJ4XXX (custom rotaries). When I did I tried FDVs and Super Fatties. I found the SFs to make the bridge almost usable (to me) because of a more useful tone and more volume. Obviously YMMV.

I would lean to SF2. I believe the FDV would sound thin against the P.

Agreeing with @Thumper THE SF2 sounds pretty solid on its own in the bridge position and it blends great with a P tone
