Has anyone heard that the Effigy uses the same strings as an Afterburner or whatever. I assume they are, but maybe the bridge has different requirements?
Okay, one last post playing with some different lighter colors that I’d hope work well with the very-difficult-to-ignore maple neck joint. Hope this helps others like it helps me.

Would be great but they don’t yet let you configure this model with any other neck wood but maple
I wonder if the lack of options is to streamline production so they can get some of these out, or if they just have the same three year wait as everything else.
I'm still considering getting in line, and did some mock ups. Not keen on dark colours because the maple block in the middle, which can't help but stand out. Would still love candy dark purple regardless. Out of the "default" Dingwall colours, to me ferrari yellow looked best but also loudest, vintage white and shell pink look good and a bit more subtle. At the same time, who cares about being subtle when you have a headless multiscale, just go for the candy pink metallic

John Fox estimate is it could be just one year for the ones that where first in line https://www.johnfoxbass.com/product-page/dingwall-effigy-headless-bass-pre-order. But they have quite some new products, stil need the quality check on all non Canadian basses, and have quite some orders. They might have some new machines to help them out, but it's still a small team with a lot to do.
Has it really three years through for anyone?
I’d have to check my original receipt but I think I’m at or near two years at this point. Possibly just over.
My SP1 4 string black gloss arrived yesterday and I obviously spent most of the day with it.
First impressions are good - P solo sounds like a P with clearer lows and sweeter highs, J solo I don’t really care about but sounds good. Series is higher output and darker as expected - will probably use this the most. Fell in love with parallel surprisingly - sound more scooped and closed to JJ than I expected.
No issues with QC or build quality - everything looks impeccable.
Neck is very comfy - I’m usually a sucker for thin necks but this seems like the best of both worlds - classic profile but skinny nut.
Body is very comfortable - not sure what did they do ergonomics wise but I love it.
Weight is an absurd 7.9 pounds ~ 3.6kgs.
I got the LaBella Ian Martin Alison signature strings and will put them on next week. What strings is everybody else using?

Same strings as you would normally use for the scale length. It's the same style setup as Riviera individual bridges, just assembled in a 1 piece bridge. And was designed in collaboration with the actual Riviera guy, Federico Pecci
I think I’ve narrowed it down to one of these two colors.
The silver blends in better with the maple block and has that metal-like futuristic look that works with the progressive design…
but the metallic charcoal doesn’t exactly look bad either (to say the least) from this angle and is very close to my old BMW M2 Mineral Grey which is in line with the sports car theme of DW.

These AI generated photos looks considerably better then what mine came up with - what did you use? Thinking of experimenting with different pickguard ideas and neck illusions stickers.
