I must be a great disappointment to Sheldon and his crew.

I love the endless gallery of bass porn that shows up on this thread, but like an old man at the beach, I'm content to just look.

I get every tone that I need out of my ABZ, and it serves me so faithfully that I can't imagine cheating on it with another Dingwall. In fact, I keep taking it to the dive gigs that were supposed to be done on the Squier...

Oh man. My reverse P pick guard arrived the other day. I've had the bass for several months now but only recently got around to ordering one from Dingwall. Installed it today, and MY GOD does it sound good with the reverse config.

Steve, I really can't fault your logic here.

After having both basses for a bit now and spending significant time on each, I have come to the conclusion that each is a dream bass unto itself. Further, should times ever get tough, I could happily spend the rest of my life on either and feel that I would have better tone than 85-90% percent of the bass players running around.

If I can just cough up this 37 inch scale hairball, I could live happily ever after. :hiding:

I've decided to do BOTH. When I ordered my Super P4, I also ordered two PGs, one (tort) in standard config. and one (Baltic amber in your honor Zoomie) in reverse config. so I can 'speriment.

When I figure out which one I like the best, I will order one more custom in gold anodized, all to go with my transparent white finish with wenge/wenge.

I totally get where your coming from Steve. After my Super P4 delivers next month, I am done buying basses!!

I can justify playing a couple of different Dingwalls, based on string number (I really like having both) pickup type/placement, wood choices. But at some point, it makes me crazy to choose a well.

BTW, play that damn bass and don't worry about where you're playing it!! Just be a little extra careful where needed, of course.;)

I was able to 'let go' of my first Dingwall (AB-1) in search of an even more perfect fiver and it needed to be trans indigo like the AB. The "Stormy Monday" (trans indigo) SJ/P five that the AB funded is dreamily perfect for me. I've bonded so strongly to all of my 'pack', I would have a hard time letting any of them go. :eek: I don't even think about playing favorites, just play 'em all... ;)
