Thanks for the reply Sheldon. I sent a similar inquiry to your Dingwall email before I realized that it was you who responded to my question. In my email, I inquire about getting a replacement tone pot. Looking forward to your response to that email. Thanks a bunch.

I think this would only make me LESS functional. I texted Mark yesterday and told him that I have a big event on Sunday and was about to have a nervous breakdown trying to decide which Dingwall to play. If I had to choose between three Dings, I;m not sure I'd ever actually play.
Jeff, you are the original instigator in getting me to look at Dingwalls in the first place.

Well I just got done trying out a friends AB1.
I am actually having a hard time communicating my excitement in a PG manner.... Even my fudge ups sound good through that bass. The low end definition through my '66 is ridiculous. The neck profile is a little thinner front to back than I am used to, but nothing that I cant happily work with. The fanned frets are super easy to work with. As soon as I stopped paying attention to my left hand they became intuitive. Even going up the neck I had no issue finding the right notes.
When I got done, I picked up my BFR Sterling HS 5 and banged out a few notes. I was on the verge of disgust with it after the Afterburner.

Huh. I find the neck comfy, but I've gotten used to the Z-Series which while having a similar feel is definitely thinner. I think the AB feels like Sheldon's take on a P-bass feel by comparison. Its cool though because it has compound radius and also the neck profile is asymmetrical and compound too.

I am smitten with the feel of the bass. The neck is thinner than what I currently play, but its very comfortable.
The sound.... Crazy amazing sound. Its like the fist time I played my bass and amp through a fEARful. "Oh.. that's what my right is supposed to sound like..." Only now its even more of that. Note definition is amazing. John's bass has a blend knob instead of a volume pot. With the pick ups in series and the blend even, I was getting crazy growl through my rig.
The NG-2 has me curious as well.... I really wish I could sit down with all the models and try them out.
I finally solved my dilemma. Which Ding to take with me.

To me, the neck on my AB 1.5 feels a bit shallower than my prior AB's (and early AB 1 and a 2009 AB2). It's definitely not as shallow as the neck on my Z2 was, but somewhere in the middle and my favorite of the bunch.
The blend on my bass is definitely a DIY offering; it only works normally in parallel mode. It gets weird in series; it gives me a couple different "colors" between 11 & 1 o'clock, then it acts as a master volume.
When it's at the center detent, it has no effect -- and I kept it at center with the bass in passive mode to most accurately emulate an AB1 with passive circuitry.
It was DEFINITELY a big sound through the B1500 and 1515/66...
And your MM Sterling 5 is a BEAUTIFUL bass; that rosewood neck is amazing!
But it still looks like the "Dingwall Owners' Group" will have another member soon

Yesterday at about 7:15 PM I loved my sterling. Great sound, played amazing.... At 8:00 I was sold on the dingwall. I spent all of last night asking myself, "would I even play my other basses?"
Trust me, you'll play them for a while, and then you'll just realize how much better fanned frets are... Plus the Dingwall craftsmanship, tone, how they're all lightweight...

I don't anymore. As sweet as my 32" MIJ Precision (my last parallel-fretted bass) was, it found a new home a couple of months ago. Anything else pales in comparison for me.
