Dingwall Owners Club

That is an intriguing burl. I also see trapped faces in it. :woot:

Looking forward to attending the Four States Guitar Show in Springfield, MO in a few days. Bebass graciously invited me to come on down and talk bass, play bass, and hang out. It will be interesting to hear Jeff Genzler's new line-array cabinet with my own ears. If you're a TB'er who hasn't had a chance to lay your fingers on a Dingwall bass, here is an excellent opportunity! The Spiritbasses will also be in attendance (SJ-5, SJ/P-4, and SP-4).

Sounds fun. Wish I was closer.

If the weather doesn't clear up here by Thursday, I'm gonna die. I'm supposed to be buying @Eugene B 's SP5, but we had sleet, rain, and snow tonight. I have class all day tomorrow. My only hope is that Thursday afternoon is clear enough for me to make a run to Rochester to seal the deal. And get some tasty vegan food at The Red Fern.

Well the deposit on my ABZ has been made. I'll be officially able to join the club in 6-9 months!
Dude, you're already in the club. This is the place to be for current, future, and past Dingwall owners.

On a different note, does anyone have a white SP5 pickguard in standard routing (not reverse) they want to part with, or am I going to need to contact @Sheldon D.?

Anyone heard anything recent about the 4 string ng-2's? Would I be able to have it tuned to BEAD without messaging with the nut? I want that dingwall B but if I could have a smaller neck to complement my short fingers that would be rad!
I bet you could order it from the factory strung BEAD. They allow custom tunings on all their other basses, even current 5 string Combustions.

I don't own a Dingwall yet (saving up for a 5 string NG-2), but I had no issue tuning my 4 string Warwick Streamer LX to BEAD... All I had to do was change the strings.

Even if you need to widen the gap a bit it's not that hard. The files can be expensive, so I've taken the perfect sized drill bit for that slot and wrapped sand paper around it and file it back and forth. It likely takes longer than with a file, but there's less of a chance of doing damage... Just be steady, be careful not to scrape the fretboard or headstock, and keep some feeler gauges against the nut so you don't go too deep.

Don't die - there are too many Dingwalls you haven't played!!!

Spirit is totally right - waking up dead, is nasty. I can agree with you on the weather though - Toronto is snow/slush/freezing rain (last night) and still snowing! ....buuuut I'm back at disagreeing about the vegan food LOL...well I DID have a salad on top of my burger last night - baby steps...baby steps. ;)

It will be great to hang out with all the bass gear. I am really excited to see your basses!

Yes, I spoke with Sheldon about this and he suggested to have it tuned at the factory. The nut would have to be modified. I had thought about ordering a EADGC and asking for another nut to be made so I could change it back.
