@ Selta I dig it. I feel the same way about supporting Sheldon and his crew. While I'm happy to buy used gear, I want my first Dingwall (someday... someday...) to be a Z3 made seulement pour moi.

Beautiful brothers! You're already covering a lot of tonal ground with these. The SP/J will expand it even further. I like your rug, also.
Whenever I read threads about "I only need/want one bass", I think 'good for you', but know that I am more fickle/moody in what I want to hear and feel from day to day/hour to hour. 
That is a great span of models for sure! Love the ABII with the Cocobolo top. The sapwood makes it very unique.

I'm also a fan of the Hercules stands.
The AB-5 fits this stand well. It has held up well so far. Not sure about a 6-string neck though -- might barely fit.
The Hercules stand that spiritless mentioned might be better suited for a 6-string.

Thanks bud! I'm enjoying the tbb (trans-blackburst). Up close the burst result actually makes it looks dark brown which of course accents the maple board. In any event, that AB-5 looks mighty fine even with a bit of construction dust on it!

I have one being made in a few months that will look kinda like your middle ABII; mine has a nice Redwood X-top with 3 pickups/switches and wenge/wenge neck/fretboard.
....Selta....I wouldn't say "middle of nowhere".....but with the temperature of -35celcius and windchill of -49 Celsius.....mmmmm, it was a tad brisk. Lol ....glad to see you getting this bass though...it was my first Dingwall so it's been guarded with my life. You will enjoy it I'm sure. Chat soon...sorry the pics aren't bass related.Well.

I sold my Chrome Blue V2 or V3 (no way to know for certain) Combustion. I sold some old gear I no longer needed or wanted. I have other gear for sale (no, can't discuss in depth here since I won't pay TB). But, I've sold enough to buy graphics1988's Red Flame Maple AB I. I believe he's out in the middle of no where presently doing some vacationing, but I sent a substantial deposit to put my name to it, until he gets back and we can square up.
Can't wait to have that one in hand. I just wish it were active like my other AB-I, but the BluEQcube thing sounds intriguing, so we'll see how that sits with me.
That should kill. I loved every Wenge necked bass I've owned.

Hey, an interesting info on the Combustion version history. We've identified V1 and V2 features and changes. And V4 is self evident. But with little to no discussion of V3 I asked Mr. D himself for anything he could offer in this. Here was the response:
"IIRC the only change for V3 was a better and more consistent neck carve and Neodymium pickups."
I don't think there is any further detail on this, serial number range when this occurred, etc. but it's interesting nonetheless. Is there anyway to identify a V2 Alnico from a newer NEO? And there are some pre V4 Combustions sporting NEOs that may not know.
