Doesn't the fact that they sell so fast indicate that they are NOT overpriced. If market sets the price and these are flying off the shelves...

Build cost (labor, materials, R&D, marketing, shipping, receiving, overhead, staff, etc. etc. etc.) plus markup is the capitalistic side of this. You can't separate the two.
I've purchased a new NG2 (which I sold) and yesterday my Super J from the classifieds was delivered.
I said I could be wrong, but they are expensive for what they are compared to other basses no matter how you slice it. The prices used to be lower before they got so popular.
I'm guessing the Canadian labor is the biggest factor in price. Used prices are totally reasonable imo.
Try buying a similar new Sadowsky J, they are comparably priced, but IME (owned 2 NY Sadowskys J5s) the Dingwall B is superior which is very important to me.
I love Sadowsky basses. I've owned a few as well. But when push came to shove when I needed cash, I chose to liquidate the Sadowkys and kept my Dingwalls.
I'm not sure I thought my Dingwalls were superior in an absolute sense, as much as my Dingwalls were the right choice for me, between instruments from two awesome luthiers
I agree and didn't mean to imply one is better in an overall sense (especially craftsmanship), although I maintain the B is better, and FOR ME the tone is better, that's without considering the XXX.
I know you didn't. Roger Sadowsky is building Fender clones that have a wonderful and unique set of features that are part of Roger's creative vision, and they are built impeccably.
BUT, there is certainly a limit to the scope of that innovation given that the product is directed to the Fender clone paradigm (and a damn fine paradigm, no doubt).
Sheldon is able to stretch the paradigm beyond that Fender paradigm, and his innovation has really stretched far beyond that paradigm.
I can certainly appreciate those who favor a bass that is more closely related to the Fender paradigm. I love Fender style basses, but I'm the type of person who will lean toward a more forward approach. Sheldon has made it an art to innovate bass guitar manufacture to new heights in so many ways, yet IMHO, maintains just the right amount of connection to the past.
And that's why I choose Dingwalls!
No 34/35'' B can really compete with 37''.
If another company used 34-37'' scale I'm sure their B would just as good though.

That purple looks very nice with the black!
Yeah but the replacement covers were only $3 each so I'm not sweating it too much.
It's supposed to be pink, but I really dig that it's a little bit purplish. Looks kind of regal. I think the blue will stay on the majority of the time but the fit is so good that I don't really need the screws and will probably just change them out regularly.

I'm looking for a new stand for my AB-II 6 string (pic attached). Can any fellow Dingwall 6-string players recommend a high quality and "small folding" portable stand that holds safely and securely?
