There's also a couple of "preorder" ones on there - looks like the earliest one may be July delivery. I'd call the shops you mentioned and ask when the next shipment is coming in, and see if you can prebuy one. I'd also recommend calling Chad Beeler @ TheBassShopSeattle.com / 206-678-5248. He has a V4 Combustion now, and may have or be getting an NG-2 soon.

Had fun at the Four State Guitar Show today! I've never been to one before - they are fairly cacophonous (the guitar players!). Got to meet @bebass and 'Doc', the Spector Maniac. ;) Had much fun 'Talking Dingwall' with many players. Everyone who got to play one for the first time were either impressed or completely blown away by their ease of play and tone. One guy who was an old-school dyed in the wool Fender player was simply amazed that he could play my Super J/P-4 with complete ease. He told me that "I didn't think I could even play that thing!". I wish I could have spent more time with the Genzler Magellan & line array cabs, but I didn't want to take any time away from the players interested in playing a Spector or Dingwall bass. I did get to play an NG-2 for a little bit, but didn't even get to plug in the nice 'burst Combustion that was also on hand. Very nice necks on those Combustions, I must say. :cool:

It was such a pleasure to meet you!
Thanks so much for "talking Dingwall" with all the folks. Although no Dingwalls were sold there I do think there was a fire lit. It was funny to watch some of the people go from a look of bafflement & skepticism to within just a few seconds or so a look of amazement and wonder - then a big grin as they played.
The Combustion was sold the night before the show.
Sorry you didn't get a chance to play through the Genzler amp & Bass Array cabs; I think all those Spector guys helping at the show, as well as the rep that attended, were converts to the Bass Array (one already had gotten two). You are always welcome to come over for a cup of coffee and play through them. I barely had time to breathe so if not for you I think many Dingwall questions would have gone unanswered. One touring pro came by after you left and played the NG2; he was very impressed - as we knew he would be :). Thanks again!

I have always loved my ABs, and I love my current ABZ. And every time I play it, I wonder how the more expensive models can really be better. But when I played my former Z, I said, Ahhhh I get it and I still DAS for one big time!

One can argue about whether the refinements are worth the extra cake, but it's impossible to argue that the refinements aren't appreciable.

Comparing it to my 6 string ABZ; same lovely ringing low notes with a little extra growl. The tone is a little more precise, if that makes sense. Beautiful thin neck. The 4 tones on the pup selector are very distinct; with any bass I tend to settle on one setting and leave it there but all of these will get used. And it's gorgeous in the flesh!

Speaking of "vintage" Dingwall knobs -- I have a set of six of the plastic knobs (5 for the split shaft pots, and one 'D' shaped for the selector switch) that the basses came with circa 2004 for anyone who wants them...just cover my shipping.
