Thanks for your vote. Soon I'll have some studio recordings to post. We're about 85% of the way through the album recording process. The Dingwall->Monique sounds really nice.

Ok guys. First full week has gone by while on the waitlist. I have no idea how you all do it, and I *completely* understand the urge to constantly post about it.
For reference, here are my basses names, so I can talk to you all like I do with people in real life (and type less, because I can be lazy):
Blue Afterburner 1, P-tone, Glockenklang 2 band pre == Phi (φ)
Red Afterburner 1, stock, flamed maple top == Pi (π)
[on order] Green Afterburner 1, 3x, Glock 3 band == Sigma (Σ)
(the first two will make more sense in a couple of days)
Played Phi tonight at rehearsal, and listening/watched a video from our big gig last week. Pi did not disappoint in the tone department in the LEAST. I knew what I heard on stage was good, but hearing what FOH heard was jaw dropping. Then Phi came out and just shredded. Amazing basses. I really wish I had jumped on these years ago.

You need to tell those guys to release Midas Touch to the masses!! Some friends and I stumbled upon it a few years ago on a snowboard trip to Colorado. We can't get it in Canada . Best beer I've ever tasted. Also, dingwall.

Rookie, I'm 17 weeks in with roughly 19 to go by my accountingwhich actually makes me nearly halfway to my SJ3xxx.
Been thinking of taking a road trip up to pick it up when it's done, a one-way trip of 1026 miles through Wyoming, Montana, and Canada to Saskatoon.. On my annual Harley trip it's usually a left across the Canadian border through Banff towards Vancouver and down the Pacific Coast Highway untill Sacramento, then inland until we hit the loneliest highway in the world (Highway 50) and back to Utah. As fun and beautiful as that trip is, this will be a nice change, even sans Harley.

So I just changed the neck pickup in my Combustion from parallel to series and wow, what a difference for the better. Definitely more of a P-like tone which is in general more my preference. Makes the neck-bridge in series setting a lot better to my ear too. Gotta love a simple 5 minute job that greatly improves something you already love!
Now I guess I need to figure out whether I want to change the bridge to series too.....

It is wired parallel from what I'm looking at...I believe the NG2s may be series
V4 combustions come with both pickups in parallel, although a lot of the Canadian dingwalls come with bridge series and neck parallel. Not sure about the ng2.

My NG2 had the pickups wired in parallel. I had two of the Darkglass 50k EQ pots swapped out with ones equipped with push/pull DPDT switches and wired them to provide series/parallel switching for both pickups. Highly recommended for expanding the range of available tones. The neck pickup soloed in series sounds so much better than in parallel - fat and beefy with better mids.
Same for the Combustion re: neck solo series vs parallel. I may have to explore some push-pull switches....

Yeah. I don't know when he'll be updating build time ETAs... I was going to ask my dealer if he knew yet, but I hate to be a bother about it.
