Well I wish it was negotiable for keeping it but the truth is I would have to play more shows than I have booked in order to keep it as a personal bass. I only let one guy (the pic) actually hold it at the show. I do have a NG2 ordered for myself. I briefly panicked thinking maybe my CRS had kicked in and I just THOUGHT I had listed it.I did not see it on your site, so I was wondering if negotiations were on going with the misses.

One thing that has hit hard is a significant import tax increase just THIS YEAR (gee, I wonder why). Almost doubled.I found it now! Yeah creeping on it is all I can do right now!
Have you filled out and submitted a NAFTA Certificate of Origin (COO) form for your Dingwalls? Or is this some sort of state use tax assessment? The only Federal tax that should be imposed by the Feds between NAFTA countries is an excise tax that is actually pretty small at .3464 % with a minimum of only $25.
The Feds don't collect state use/sales taxes, but they do make declarations available to state tax representatives that may occasionally claim state taxes from the importer.
Bottom line, if you are paying the Feds any more than about $25 bucks a bass for excise tax, you are getting ripped off and you can seek a refund by submitting the NAFTA Certificate of Origin (COO) form and requesting the refund. If you fill out the form, and submit it to customs, you should owe no duty whatsoever. When I "imported" by bass from Australia, they wanted to charge me like $250. Once I filled out this form, I was only charged like $35 bucks, which included a fee to the broker.
I got my NG-2, and after playing with the stock neck pickup in both positions I am going to order a P-tone pickup and get it routed for the 3X configuration. Though the switching I had proposed may be interesting, I think I am going to follow your path and just get the standard 3X rotary. I'll probably make the volume pot a push/pull for active/passive and use the stock A/P switch as a series/parallel switch (as series will blend better with the P-tone and stand on its own, while parallel will mate up with the middle pickup for the MM thing).
I'm definitely looking forward to it. Such a great bass, and it will be made even more versatile I'm sure.

I was thinking about that as well. I guess that will be the next step if I can't find a trade.
It really is beautiful in person. The wood seems to move it is sooo 3D. One of my fav finishes too ever since I saw this Z3
As for choosing. I let the basses decide lol. The roscoe still makes it in to playtime even. It just depends on the night.
My Z3 is dedicated to band with the different tuning so everything else is just random.
The neck is walnut. I think ge board is pao ferro. I'm hoping to get build spec info from dingwall..... fingers crossed.
Just getting home from my event, the Emerald City Bass Convention. I was spreading the Dingwall gospel as far and wide as I could, and a couple cats showed up with their NG-2s as well. I think we may end up with a couple or more new members in our ranks (though, I think one of them is not a TB member) before long.
Anyone have the pickup dimensions for a Combustion 5er? Are they standard, like, EMG soapbar sizes?
