I also use Dingwall nickles on my SJ5XXX and SPJ5, I particularly like the B's, even if I were to change brands (unlikely), I'd keep the B strings on them.
I also like the dingwall strings. Mine came with SS and that's uh huh the way I like it. Considering taking the edge off with nickel down the road and for now I have on these DR black beauties. My only complaint so far is the 35" scale B on the black beauties. Seems pretty dead in comparison to dingwall strings. My opinion may change as I get more play time but that is my first and second impression.

So the .130 RC is higher tension than the standard .130? I was going off of a older post that stated
"The original Payson Fanned Nickel Steel strings have been reformulated with a Reduced Core for less tension. The outside wrap remains the same with it's relatively larger, smoother feel. The lighter core decreases tension while increasing harmonic content. It adds noticeably more snap and pop on the D & G strings for the slappers."

It was pretty big last year and this year they tell me it has almost doubled in size and there is a good band playing at the end of the day. Most any kind of vintage, collectible, and new gear with several manufacturers with products being displayed. If you make it out stop by my booth and say hello; always nice to hear from TB folks!

I envy you Dave, mine was possibly going to be here in March but haven't seen it yet, I'm really itching to play it thru the Bergantino bamp and pair of Referance 112s I recently acquired. Come on Michael, give me some goooooood news !!
So both the reduced core and the medium light share the .130m but what about the rest of the strings? are the reduced core stiffer-higher tension than the medium lights? I'm confused now, first you said they are higher tension and then @TSmith92 quoted you from an old post where you said the RC had less tension.

Payson Fanned Nickel Steel-RC's have less tension than the original PFNS set of the same gauges. The Payson Fanned NS-Medium Lights are lighter in tension than the PFNS-RC's, with the exception of the B string.

How's the DOC crew been? Been away for a while. Took my new SP5 on a cross country trip with the fam and think I got to pull it out of the gig bag once. Good news is it survived a flight to CA from DE and then a drive from the west back to the east with no issues in a Mono M80. Slightly out of tune by the time I got back, not bad for all the climate and altitude changes and time spent in the car!
Mostly quiet for me. Still just enjoying the hell out of my new 6 string AB1. I go into the studio to work on the recording projects, and I keep getting distracted with it.

Waiting on the hiccup in the supply chain for new medium-scale SS strings to resolve itself. It's a good thing I started dunking my strings in alcohol to extend their life. Playing every Sunday, as usual. Played the SJ5 this past Sunday - what a sweet beast! Still DAS-free... 
I've been great, getting a reverse P pickguard for my SPJ5 from the crew in a week or so, so pretty stoked about that. Going on a cruise to Mexican Riviera Saturday, so I'll have that to look forward to when I get back.

I was wonder how much play time you were gonna get on that trip. There's that fellow Phillipe gomez(i think) who seems to just travel around with his dingwall and play everywhere. What a cool thing.
Glad the new ding made the trip with no problems. It's now extremely well travelled. Lol.
On this end of things.....
youd be proud. I now have me a laptop(thank you airmiles) set up with an interface and a program to get on recording stuff!!! Also, strap number 3 is complete and heading for a photo shoot today with my friends prima. On top of all that the cold is pretty much gone and for my first recording abortion I've chosen a song completely outta my comfort zone to start with on the recording. Lol. Walkin' after midnight by patsy cline. However I'm thinking kinda walking dead style. Heheheheh.
Awesome! Yeah once you get past the initial intimidation of recording it is a lot of fun. Cant wait to see the finished strap!
