Man, I can hear the NY in this. Plays like a selection from a broadway book. Was that the intention? Either way, good stuff man. Who played the sax? Great work.
You can wick in some thin CA glue under the magnet to glue it to the plate.
The intent was always to show a wide range of styles, and there's no getting the theater out of her: she's a drama major with musical theater focus. She's definitely growing as a songwriter.
The sax player is a guy in my class that graduated from Eastman in jazz performance. We all joke that if he charged us union wages we'd be paying more than we did for tuition. He's crazy/scary good.

Thanks for the kind words man! The NG-3X is actually on the middle/bridge setting on the rotary with both pickups in series. Any perceived "scoop" is simply due the massive and complex tone of the AO, as well as the Growl and Bite switches being engaged.
That Darkglass Alpha Omega sounds great, as does the playing, bass and song. Does the pedal do mild distortion/overdrive well? I just checked the price on it and ouch!

It absolutely does; at the lowest drive setting it essentially sounds like a tube amp and can essentially just be used for added color or what some might call an "amp/cab sim".
Working on some new covers today with the same drummer that are very different on style from this one but still recorded direct through the AO

Your tone on the tracks is just killing! I saw you have a Cali 76 on your board. Are you using compression with the distortion or is it off? I have been debating if I should add a compressor to the mix since I play with the B3K or AO set very aggressive.

The Cali is on, but the input is set to it's hardly compressing at all; 5dB at the most.
It's more of a tone additive than anything to add some crunch to the top end and some extra harmonics; I'm thinking about swapping it out for the CB version for the side chain and HPF features, but I'm not sure if I'd miss the metering or other controls.

I keep talking about how much I love my NG-3X, so figured it was time to finally post a clip of me playing it
The signal chain is simply NG-3X > Darkglass Alpha-Omega > DG Ultra (light EQ only, no added drive) > $100 interface, no post processing of any kind added or needed
The combustion variant 3x with a tone capsule is a beast!
Because the good people at the factory are so generous with their time and knowledge, I will pass along this little tidbit of knowledge in case you have a 3X and feel inclined to experiment with different PUP types (not that any experimentation is needed). This is probably somewhat common knowledge, but in the case of a factory 3X, the PUPs will probably be marked N (neck), M (middle), or B (bridge).
Were you to buy Ptone or FDVs from the factory, depending on where you planned to use them, you would use N PUPs for the neck or bridge position and a B PUP for the middle position. Probably obvious to most, but it wasn't to me

FDVs don't come in "M", huh? Do Ptones come in both "N" and "B" or are they always "N"?
So if the pickups all will come in the same shell, you could get some interesting combos:
P/FDV/SF2 etc.
From what I've seen and been told, if the FDV is in the middle position of a factory 3X, it would be marked M. If you were to order an FDV from the factory, and told them it was for use in the middle position of a 3X, you would likely receive one marked B, as I was. If it was for the bridge, it would be marked N.
To my knowledge, Dingwall has not delivered a 3X with 3 Ptones. If you were to retrofit one, the PUPs from Dingwall would most likely be marked N/B/N. And they clearly make all of those. Why when ordering just a pickup for the Bridge would you get one labeled N? Or a Middle marked B?
What you're saying makes sense, but as a whole it makes no sense to label things one way but not adhere to that standard (network guy here).
Trust me, I was confused when I got ordered 3 Ptones and 1 FDV, and got 2 N Ptones, 1 B Ptone and 1 N FDV. Jeff at Dingwall explained: "The reason for what you received is because when we do a 3X bass we use neck pickups in the outside positions and a bridge pickup in the middle. This is to avoid magnetic interference from the pickups being too close together".

The Z3 does all the sounds! Sheldon didn't get the memo though, and his crew keeps building all these other sick instruments that look and sound awesome and the only way for me to hold is to buy em! Wish that didn't mean i had to sell the other ones. BTW, my wife said I can't get a motorcycle. Something about having young kids and needing me to provide for them and not die, IDK I was too busy thinking about what else I could spend the money on once she said no. Luckily Nuts and Saddles helped me figure something out.
I really hope both my kids end up playing bass. Otherwise I will have made some incredibly selfish choices in retrospect.

What you say sounds awefully familiar. The only difference is my wife said if you buy 1, you have to buy 2 (motorcycles not basses unfortunately).
I tell ya, I'm getting to the age where even our back country family outings have me questioning my mortality enough to know that if I got a motorcycle..... splat. Or worse, I'd be scraping her up. Every once in a while the whole "responsibility to your loved ones" works it's way to the top of the priority list Eh.
