There you go being all politically correct again!
You know what's funny, every USED bass I own currently has been rested up against a cab or something like that. Combustion, Roscoe, Z, SJ. All have ever so slight "history" on the neck.
Personally, I've never been one to allow that to happen but at the same time it is soooo familiar to me to have a "texture" back there now that I often wonder if I should start!!!! Ha.
Hey Bob, I gotta watch what I say you know!!! I'm gonna run for office soon I think. Pretty sure we are long over due to have a bass playing plumber running the show up here.

I think a few of us should get together and establish a very tight "Dingwall swapping" circuit. If there were say, four members, you could look forward to receiving a new bass every 3 months and you wouldn't see the original for a year.....
This would alleviate DAS but it would all go to H@ck as soon as somebody reneged and kept one too long!

this may have been mentioned by myself to someone here... lol.
The problem is can you imagine the shipping if we did this every 3 months...... it's IMO the major killer in a regular ding swap.

Just a little update on that whole "my bass was modded before I bought it" issue -
The previous owner installed a Darkglass Tone Capsule in my AB I. The master volume knob (closest to the neck) is still doing its job, but the middle knob (this is an older model Combustion that only has three knobs) is a bass tone and the new stacked knob (closest to the bridge) is low mids and high mids. The toggle switch has been disconnected.
So... thinking I should get a second stacked knob to replace center single knob (currently bass tone). That one could be bass tone and pickup blend.
Or maybe switch the master volume to neck pickup volume and the new available control on the center stack to bridge volume?
Anybody have any (hopefully better) ideas that don't require drilling new holes?

I drilled a hole in my red AB1 to accomodate the 4th knob. It just made a lot more sense than trying to find stacked knobs and not having the 4 position rotary knob (which I MUCH prefer to a simple blend).

Ditch the volume control and install a pickup selector?
I generally don't touch any knobs on any bass except for the individual pickup volumes on a P/J I have; I like to roll the J off just enough to notice.
Everything else tends to be 100% at all times.
I'd probably be most happy with two knobs - a VOL for each pickup.
I'm thinking of putting it back to stock (with the new PU selector from Dingwall) and selling the Tone Capsule.

I am no longer in the mix for that gorgeous z3x sixer. I was just giving him grief for the same reason I believe you were. DT's a big tease.Actually, I completely understand it. It's hard to let something like that go. I would have been tweaking over that also.
I think you owe it to yourself to try it in the stock configuration: volume, 4-way selector, tone.
You convinced me to sell you back the bass....and NOW YOU ARE SELLING IT??????????????????????????????????
