That is sweet. I like that a lot. Even better than my SJ/P4.

I think you owe it to yourself to try it in the stock configuration: volume, 4-way selector, tone.

I didn't actually mean 100% tone because I'm an idiot. I meant no boost or cut with active EQ, 100% tone with passive EQ.

And yes, I think I might want stock after all.

Does anybody know if standard D'Addario XL nickels will fit on a super series?

I need new strings right now and that's what I have at home. I feel like they'd fit because they fit on all of 35" scale basses, just curious if anybody knows for sure.

The DR pure blues are really nice, and come in several gauges.
I think I've got 100-40, with a 30 C string. So slinky!

I put in a request for cost estimate and expected build/delivery time today for an AB1... very curious to stack up against an ESP custom shop estimate I just received for more or less the same instrument (a Japanese-built version of theirB-1005SE).

While the specific question was already answered, standard strings in general seem to fit on the Super series. I had 25-year-old Blue Steels (MIP) lying around, which I threw on my Super J when I converted to E-C, and they worked perfectly fine. Well, for 25-year-old Blue Steels, that is....

Maple on wenge is a very bold move, I'm not sure I could have resisted the all wenge look, even being a maple enthusiast myself. A tip of the cap to you or whoever ordered it!
