Hmm...don't give me anymore ideas.....I considered a matching yellow strap but thought that was too much.

I did the same thing. Dingwall nickels for the Dingwalls and Pure Blues for my weird fret basses.Love the nickels - they add that little extra growl without losing much (if any) zing. Started using DR Pure Blues (which are nickel) instead of Hi-Beams (SS) on my straight basses as well. Consider me a nickel convert.

Thou jest...but a YELLOW strap with a Black bass note on it would probably be really cool. On the other hand a Black Dingwall strap would set it off as well.Hmm...don't give me anymore ideas.....I considered a matching yellow strap but thought that was too much.
I have a black Dingwall strap, a yellow stitched "D" logo might be a nice touch!

My wife said it looks like a Lego. It definitely needs some red, green, and blue accents to really set it off.
How did the paint on the neck affect the tone? Does it sound different?
Waiting for the neck to settle down, I was in a hurry and didn't sand the paint between the neck and the heel, so now I have a few microns of shim there.
I'm very used to a painted neck, I played an old Rickenbacker 4001 for years.
I'll report back, but not expecting a huge tonal difference.

Well the neck settled down and most of the buzz is gone, still need to finish setting up and intonate properly.
But I can truthfully report no basic difference. Because I'm WANTING to hear a difference, it may be a tad less bright, less snappy than it was, but I think that's power of suggestion at the moment.
The real test is in band conditions, I intend to have it ready to roll by next gig.
