I see a lot of reggae bass players playing Ibanez basses when they're on tour in Europe

Some guys are using provided gear, there's all sorts of people who offer tour packages and handle all gear, van, driver, routing, etc. Other times it's way easier to buy when you get there then either keep or get rid of it at the end of the tour.

Works the same way here. I was talking to the Wailing Souls tour manager this past summer and he's basically the same kind of service. He reeled off a handful of other Jamaican touring acts that he's done in the past handful of years too. They'll even source merch. Yellowman's guy, on the other hand is Jamaican and has been with him off and on since 1982. He asked me if I'd convince Yellow of the value of merch.

I'd would really LOVE to see some Dingwall basses! A few of you fine folks put up a few 6ers the last couple of pages that were all drool-worthy! drool I'd like to see any and all you guys have. It's only sheer willpower that's keeping me from hitting up @bebass and ordering a couple of ABZ's(I'd like to pay down some of the Christmas spending before I run the CC's back up on new Dingwalls. I'm close though, very close...)

This was one of the few 2017 ABHS basses. It played like a dream, sounds better than a dream, and some lucky fellow now has a collector's item.

Before and after I did the P pup.

Recently fell off my “one bass” high horse for this sexy bass noir.

The sixer got sold, still playing the Super series. Really digging having a four string P. I keep the five string strung E-C for chords and noodling. It’ll still deliver the P bass wallop.

You are asking someone who's forgetter works very well. Been through a lot of basses since then...uh...ah, maybe Redwood X-top? I remember when I first took it out of the box I just stood and stared at it. So Beautiful.

Looks like redwood to me too.

That was my guess. It’s on the list of possibilities for a build I’m planning.

Well, I have now joined the Dingwall owners family as of yesterday. My wife surprised me with an NG-2/4 in Mopar purple for Valentines Day that she found at shomemusic.com. She had actually called Dingwall to ask about a custom order and learned of the long wait time. So she pulled up the shomemusic page on my iPad and threw down a debit card. She told me later that day ‘if you like this one, we can order a black one later but I’m tired of looking at all black.'

I pulled it out of the box, brought it up to 440 and checked the intonation. It was dead on. Started feeling the neck and frets and there isn’t a sharp spot anywhere. Slick as slick can be. Neck relief was great and it weighs just shy of 9 pounds. Just an absolute incredible bass. My stingray has been demoted to backup.

My wife freaking rocks.
