Me too! As an enthusiast I always love to see these amazing bass pics! I certainly would love to see a regular monthly posting of pics - these are works of art that should be seen as well as heard. and I never get tired of seeing them.
I agree. I have always told myself that even if I were in a horrible accident that prevented me playing bass, I'd still hang them up on the wall as art!
Hi....OK, this is not a plug for my band, but I wanted to share our new website/videos. They are featuring my SP5 (well, in my mind anyway!!). I'm happy how they turned out. Awesome. We do a cover of Uptown Funk in my funk band. I love playing heavy dance beat tunes on my Z3. Like you say - "massive!" I've recently added a Greenboy 15sub to my rig for even more "massive" in live performances. Also, recording engineers ALWAYS express how much they like the Dingwall tone on recordings.

'tis true - especially on "Uptown Funk" - the bass drives it.
My blue NG-2 has been in F# B E A D for a while now. Pretty fun tuning in my opinion!
I’d like to try it, but I don’t want to file the nut and there’s no luthier on the island anyone would recommend to make a new one so I can easily swap back.
Hasn’t anyone tried F# and just gone back to B without a new nut?

Did you notice differences in tone with the wenge neck or chambered body of the ABII verses the maple neck ABZ?
I see you have the Spacman Effects Exlplorer optital phaser and the new Mu-tron Micro-Tron III envelope filter. I've got both of those on my board. Man I love those pedals.
Both of those pedals ended my search for phasers and env filters. Especially the Explorer... it does so many things.
Not that I’ve had a horrible accident, but...

Well yes, but it has been quite a while since I saw those basses. One problem of a direct comparison is that this ABII had a Glockenklang pre while the ABZ had the Darkglass pre.
I can sum up my feelings when I tested them as, although I don't remember the exact tones that gave me these feelings, I remember the exact thing that came to my mind - now don't laugh at me (actually OK as I often laugh at myself) but here goes: When I first played that ABII the notes were so pristine and smooth that I closed my eyes and pictured myself playing at a sophisticated jazzy style event, kicked back wearing a bow tie and being cool as the breeze while doing smooth tasteful runs on the bass. Then when I immediately put that bass down and played the ABZ, I was back being who I really am - a High Energy Rocker running all around the stage jumping up and down and having a grand time. And I am not implying that either bass couldn't do any style as I feel they certainly can, but that was just my impression.
