I long for the day I walk into a store that has a collection like that..... unfortunately for my wife I'm sure I'll have to sell the house to pay for the bill I'd rack up!!!

I feel you, man. The ONLY reason I get to buy gear is that my gigging pays for my gear. My wife has said "As long as you're making enough playing in the band, and the bills are paid, you can buy whatever you want. If the band stops playing, you're done buying stuff.". We shook on it.



(of course, my other hand was behind my back, with my fingers crossed... )

We have a place in town that carries some nice stuff. Sheldon just picked them up as a dealer at NAMM (I assume in part to take some of the workload off from having to deal with the 'Burning Skies Account' ). They now will stock Dingwall, Fodera, Ritter, etc. There's more in shop than listed on the site...

It's not a switchblade but it's the only one if seen like this. I'd love to get my hands on this. Check out the pick up size compared to the one to the right.

Side note. I feel like the super fatties don't get the attention they deserve. My 5 is like the rest you posted.

One of my favs since the moment I saw photos of it years ago on the website. But when you showed me the photos prepaint I had no idea the Beauty and detail of that top underneath the paint. Wow.

Ok, slight diversion from Dingwall porn. Do you guys have a favorite on-line source for music theory and bass technique? I am a huge Adam Neely fan. Dude is a genious at simplifying/explaining complex musical theory and a good technique coach as well. He has a huge library of videos on his youtube channel. All free.

Does anybody happen to have an extra knob that you don't need any more?
Perhaps someone who replaced their factory knobs with custom knobs?
I need an older style knob for a Z bass built a few years ago.
It's much skinnier than the current generation knobs. (Current generation shown on bass for comparison.)

The single knob in the foreground in this photo is the one I need.

I do realize that I can buy a full set of new style knobs on the web site.
I will go that route if I have to, but wanted to first see if I could just replace the one broken knob.

I think that tort piece is a perfect compliment to the body color.

Yes, I’ll go ahead and admit that I’m too lazy to read 900+ pages of this post so I apologize in advance. Is Dingwall the majority brand to restring my NG2 with?

I usually do use Dingwall strings. Three of my four basses are 'medium-scaled' Dingwalls which can be strung with nearly any standard string set, so I do experiment occasionally. I'm really enjoying the Payson nickel rounds that I strung my NG-2 with.

I have tried the RC reduced core, and I am waiting on a set of the medium lights. Lately, I am really digging the Stainless Steel Dingwalls. For some reason, I have strongly preferred those over nickel steels on my AB1s. I like the somewhat compressed tone, and they don't seem to have the harmonic content of the nickel steels.

I'd been on the SS Dingwall train for years until I put that set of DR Pure Blues on my SP a few weeks ago. There's some kind of mojo with nickel strings and AlNico V pickups that is really floating my boat.

Seems to match quite well. Maybe black or maybe a cream, but I think that one matches well.
