Here is another so similar with Super Fatties:

No - it isn't mine. :crying:

I’d have to agree :) She’s a keeper.

I guess I need to throw a shout out to @Nephilymbass too because I aggravated the stew out of him about ordering one.
Didn’t aggrivate me at all. Glad I could help hook you up with the dealer. I’m excited to get my new ng2 in soon as well. Last update i was it’ll ship out Monday and hopefully be here later in the week so I can gig with next Saturday. So a NBD and pics are on the way.

Thanks. Man I don't know what happened. I've never given Dingwall a second look but that orange NG-2 5 string is just so damned sexy.
If you want the new one that's in the classifieds right now, you better hurry up. I am strongly considering pulling the ad and just keeping the bass and playing it. For now, it is new and unplayed. Frankly, I am quite shocked it did not sell right away.

Yes, I'm quite sure they are Super Fatties. I have an identical pickup on my Super PJ.

I think they are super fatties also. I think the photo is just a bit deceptive. I've seen "1" 6 string maybe!?! With that pick up placement and they were not super fatties. They were the "standard shells" if memory serves it was Red and maybe a switchblade.

I actually missed that post. Sadly I'm not in or near the New York area and with shipping it wouldn't be much less than just buying a new one. Really though at this point I think these are sadly out of my range, as attractive as they are to me. I wish you luck in your sale, these seem to be incredible instruments!

Well, it IS a new one. I bought it from Bass San Diego in July, and before I even received it (around Christmas time), I ordered a new ABZ 5-string, so it seemed silly to keep them both. So I have kept this NG2 in the unopened box so that it would remain literally brand new and could be sold in that condition. If you decide you really want it, PM me and we can work out a financing arrangement. I'd love to see it go to someone who will truly appreciate and enjoy it.

If you want to use your B string not just for the lowest 5 notes, but also for playing up in the middle of the neck (frets 5 to 14) and having the notes on the B string sound with the same timbre as the notes on the other strings, a Dingwall is the best way to achieve that, and an NG2-5 is the most affordable way to get there. It opens up a whole new world when you can play this way - it's a ton more efficient than always needing to slide down to first position for the most commonly played low notes (E, F, F#, G, A).

Hey guys, I just bought this AB II six string - I think it is a 2005 model or there abouts. (Waiting for delivery.) The top is bubinga, body walnut, neck bubinga, fingerboard wenge. It has the stock Aguilar preamp. I think the third switch was added by the original owner as an "extra" in case he wanted to upgrade the pre-amp. In other words, it's not currently wired.
This is my first AB II. It has seen a lot of gigs and is definitely not prestine, but I didn't want to wait a year for the NG2 X3 6 string, so I jumped on this. (I thought about buying the Dingwall HS Bubinga 6 here on TB, but it was quite a bit more and weights a couple more lbs.) Plus it's Canadian and I prefer the woods. Anyway, can anyone tell me if these are the FD3-4L pickups? I'm hoping they are, because they each have 4 leads and can be switched back and forth from parallel to series if I change to a different pre. The bass currently has the stock Aguilar preamp - not sure if it is the OBP-1 or OBP-3. Also, does anyone know if I can switch out the Aguilar for a Darkglass Tone Capsule, assuming these are the FD3-4L pickups?

Congrats! That’s a beauty.

I don’t know enough to say anything about the pups, you might just have to wait and see.

I can say that my six string AB had a sound all it’s own, and to my ears, was the best of the bunch. There wasn’t, and still isn’t a six string P pup option.

Mine was passive with the blue cube tone option.

How much does this one weigh? Mine was under nine pounds, just amazing for a six string and very comfortable.

I don't have it yet so I'm not sure on the weight. Probably around 9 lbs. based on similar models/woods. What woods did your AB have?

Nice purchase. I hope it works out for you. I was drooling over that one.

You could put a glock 2 band in for sure as an option. Even a 3 band with the stackable option they offer. Not sure if DG offers a stackable option for a 2 pot rough in. Of course I'm just thinking about not drilling any holes.
