Disappointed with Fodera

Hey guys, I heard from Fodera. They really want to make this right with me and I’m just trying to decide if I want to move forward.
As far as Sweetwater is concerned I’m gradually moving away from them as a supplier. Shipping to me usually takes one day using FedEx ground if it actually goes out. My account is set up to use only FedEx ground because get terrible service from UPS and the other discounted shipping options they use. I’ve bought a lot of stuff from them over the past 5 years so I’ve been getting FedEx Ground FREE.
Yesterday I called them to order strings I could get a discount if I ordered 3 sets so no problem. The problem was they wanted to charge me for FedEx Ground. If they did that it would cost more than list price. My rep wasn’t available and the guy I had wouldn’t budge. I told him to forget it and picked up 3 sets for the same discounted price at Guitar Center.
Things are definitely changing at Sweetwater and it’s not for the better.

Fodera didn't take the order. As a business, they get to decide what they make, that's one of the best things about having your own business. If they discontinue a line that's popular, they don't owe us an explanation, although as an owner I would love to know. As long as they honor the agreements that they've made, they've done nothing wrong.

But it's good for those of us who are holding. It's crying over spilt milk to complain about it. Just look for one on here or other used marketplaces.

Makes me laugh the negative comments about Fodera. Probably from people who never dealt with them no less owned a Fodera. I am on my third Fodera and gotta say their customer service is stellar and unmatched! Remember they are a small company so they truly care about their customers. I am a nobody in the bass world, but when I visited their shop I was treated like royalty! They even took me out to lunch!

I was at their shop because I wasn't crazy about the tone of my Monarch with the EMG PJ pickups. A bit too modern sounding for my tastes and the music I play. So when I was there they took the time to have a conversation with me in regards to what I was looking for, the styles of music I play and even wanted to hear me noodle on my bass. Then Joey gave me some recommendations and ended up swapping out the EMGs for Aquilars.

They are a first class company in my book!

Same here. They got right into with me, and all the way into it. Fodera are cool people.

Notable is that they don't put on airs, and they give their customers the benefit of the doubt: nobody though I was, the more I exhibited my interest and concern, the more they attended to every detail.

As it were, I realize in hindsight, as I revealed myself to them (despite some shared history, we hadn't met before), they welcomed me further into their world. Fodera are businesspeople and craftspeople, yes; but at heart they are artists who live the artist's life.
