DNA Owners Group

A few years ago, I bought a used DNA 2x10 on the Nashville Craigslist. A few weeks later I had to contact David about replacing blown speakers!

Needless to say, the cab was 4ohm and I wanted it to be 8ohm so a I could stack it with another cab as needed. I had to wait a little while for some drivers to become available, most were allocated to production, but he sent me the correct ones to make the change and it was as simple as unplugging one driver and plugging in another!

4 years later I’m still using the converted 8ohm cab (still has the old 4ohm data tag) and it’s been a workhorse! I’d say close to 250 shows worth of use. I’ve actually never needed the second 2x10 I bought from the Low End to stack with it!

Is there some part of the serial number of the DNA cabs that would indicate when they were built? I currently own 2 DNS-115 cabs .. one bought used and one bought new .. and may end up selling one of them. A single 115 is plenty for my needs. Any louder than that, and it usually means I'm going through FOH. Plus, since I switched from an SUV to a small hatchback, I can't fit both at one time, anyway. I'd rather sell the older (bought used) one. They're both in storage right now, but I remember both serial numbers had several leading zeroes so I wasn't sure which was which. My sales receipts did not include the serial #s, unfortunately.

The DNA rig sounded awesome again this weekend.....we did an outdoor show and I really got to open things up! It’s surprising how loud this cabinet can get without breaking up! I’ll have it out again this weekend for another round of bass goodness!

I own two Eden EX110's and they are remarkable for the size and weight. I'm working it out in my head how I can talk my wife into my buying a DNA 800 watt head and a 112 cab. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't need more than that. But I really envy you guys who are already there with your DNA setups! I can only imagine how nice they sound and they are many years evolution past my little EX110's. But from what I understand David designed the EX110's too. Here's hoping I catch wife on a good day before Christmas!
