DNA Owners Group

Thanks for the responses guys. I used Eden from about 95 to 08 and have owned a ton of their stuff. WT-500 and 800, WTX 260 when it came out, and now the WT-550. Toured for 3 years with the D410T cab in the mid 90's, also owned a 410XLT and the 210XLT and 210XST cabs. I don't think I ever used the 210XST as a standalone so I never got the true sound of it! Dan summed up what i've been wondering in his last line. Is this David's best work yet?? I'm sure I'd be happy getting a pair of XST cabs but the thought of a 1350 and a pair of DNA 210's really gives me the itch knowing that these are David's latest designs utilizing the most up to date technology.

The reason I'm thinking 210 is in case I need to take the family ride. I can't fit the 410 in there and I've had a few occasions where we had rain and I had to tarp my current 410 and deal with that whole hassle.

On another note, I emailed David and he responded thinking a single 210 would be perfect for my needs (I explained our bands situation etc) and said he would be happy to chat on the phone about it as well. Can't beat that.

On first trial, this is not good at all. Huge pop noise coming from the 12" speaker. Not much volume to speak of either. Used my Modulus Q5. GeorgeL's cable, Neutrik Speaker cables. I recorded a 2-1/2 minute video that I am getting uploaded to my youtube channel and I will post a link shortly. Maybe about 10 minutes. I am hoping you guys can tell me if this may be speaker or amp. I am thinking the amp is crapping out, but I am not sure. I am bumming hard on this. I really need a system that works perfectly.

More testing. Put my Bass 750 on top of the DNS. No popping at all. With the cracking from the EQ switch and that slap/cracking while hooked up to the 1350, I have only one conclusion. There is something seriously wrong with the 1350. I have to call Bass Club Chicago at 11am tomorrow morning and see what they are going to do. The amp is not working properly. Also, upon further testing of the DNS, I am not sure about what I think of the cabinet. There isn't a whole lot of bass bottom balls to the cabinet. Oh, also the amp is distorted sounding.

The DNS I bought used. It is about 1 year old. It has had break in time. Now, as you could see, I did not push the speaker and really get it warmed up, but there are some issues with that amp. The face is dirty as well. I think I was sold a demo model as new. Not to mention the FX button causing cracking/poping noise, there is certainly something wrong with the amp. The DNS sounded good on top of my Schroeder 1212 through my Bass 750 though

Man that sucks! I hope everything is resolved in a timely manner!

I felt the DNS 112N that I owned was perfect for the small/coffee shop gigs I was playing, but lacked bottom end and couldn't quite cut thru the mix when cranked up in a band setting. When I stacked it on another DNS 112, the rig really came alive! I prefer 10" drivers 99.9% of the time, but a pair of DNS 112's are as solid as they come and are all around great cabs!

*I used both a GB ShuttleMax12 and a Demeter HBP-1/Carvin DCML1540 into the 112 over the time I owned it.

When I stacked the 112 on top of my 1212 and ran my SWR, that rig killed!! It was rattling my house and that was only pushing 750w @ 4Ohms but again the pre was at 3-1/2 which would be my normal stage volume. The DNS 112 was a little muddly on the high end mids and made my bass sound clicky when I ran it alone. With the 1212, she kind of fell into the middle and picked up my bass quite well. It would not work at all for me as a stand alone.
