Dang Armin....I forgot to request a number. May I have a number please? Here's a shot of my DNS410 with my WT500 that was upgraded by David to 800 watts (was his test-bed amp at Eden before he left). I, of course, run it bridged at 800 watts. One S-W-E-E-T combination!!!

Thanks!
Dan

You know, the funny thing is that the order just came through, but it is saying online shipping and no actual shipping. Now I have to wait until they open to call and figure out if they actually had one available or if I put in a preorder. Can't do a preorder. Need an amp now. If they have it, I will have that in just a day or two and will be on stage with it as the headliner for the Moon Dance festival on Friday!

Who did you order from?

The Bass Club in Chicago. They were showing 2 in stock. After I placed the order, they showed only 1 in stock..

I ordered a DNA cab from them. The website showed 2 in stock and I called to confirm before placing the order which they did and also after I placed the order. A week later I called to see why I had not received it and they then told me they never had it and had to wait on one they ordered after I placed my order. I cancelled my order because they essentially lied to me, and that wasn't the first time they did that to me. If you need it by a certain date I wouldn't count on them.

Thanks for the heads up. I left them a message. I may be doing the same thing. If they actually had the amp, then I am ok with the purchase. If they do not, I know that DNA is on my list, but I need an amp right away, I can't wait for 2 months

Kabaam!! My 1350 is on a truck and I should have it tomorrow!!! I am super stoked! Now I have 2/3's of my new rig. Need to locate another DNS-112c to complete the rig. I will have the new head for my show this Friday night and I get to run it through its paces onstage at a wonderful festival called the Moondance festival.

I did a seach. pretty thourough one. nothing except the new one which I am pretty ok with. I would rather one that is completely new and then I can have it for 15 years without any doubt about what the amp has gone through

^^absolutely!!^^ A year ago I started playing in a band so I needed to upgrade my gear. After looking at new stuff, I went the economical route and bought a used Avatar 2x10 (Craigslist) and when it blew after 6 months, I stumbled upon a used DNA 2x10 4ohm (also Craigslist)...which also blew a few gigs later. Turns out the Avatar was 10+ years old and the DNA was an early production model that had seen it's way around the Nashville Lower Broad Honky Tonk circuit for several years before being passed around the Nashville bass playing community!

Now, I'm saving for a pair of brand-spanking new DNA 2x10s so I know exactly what I'm getting! :D

DNA group...help me out. Some of you "know" me over at the Eden forum as scottyn and I've had a few online conversations with Armin in the past. I've come to the crossroads. I only have one piece of gear right now, my WT-550. I'm considering keeping this and getting the XST210 (4ohm) and possibly a second down the road, but I've also kept an eye on the DNA stuff. Does anyone have any comparison between the XST210 and the DNA210? I also played the 1350 this past winter and really liked the head too. I didn't get to crank it up or play through the DNA cabs so I didn't get the 100% DNA experience. I'm trying to decide if I want to go all DNA and have the lightweight, more powerful new stuff or stay the course with Eden gear. I've always been a fan of David's stuff and am wondering if he got it 'better' the second time around. Anyhow, I'd love to hear some feedback from those of you who have used both sets of gear.

I can speak a little of the company. I had a CXC combo. the worst amp I have ever owned. I have played through a Navigator and they are pretty amazing amps. New Eden stuff (World Music Corp) is Washburn. Never could stand how they do things there. My opinion is very bias though. I should be getting my 1350 tomorrow and will put my DNA rig of the 1350 and DNS-112c though the ringer on Friday and I will hopefully have really good things to say. Your WT-550 is supposed to be a really good series head. Unless you need 1300w, keep the 550 and plunge into some cabinets

It's pretty hard to go wrong either way as both were designed by David. David designed the D210T, then the D210XLT, and finally the D210XST while he was at Eden. All are full range cabinets. The D210T T=Tweeter) used a single back port and was a great cab at the time. You'll still see them around and they are still good. The XLT (XLT= Xtra-Low with Tweeter) came later and has two shelf ports, one on top of and one below the speakers. The XLT has a mid-hump, which made it very popular because it was both pleasant to hear and the mid-hump helped it cut through in the mix. After the XLT series, David started work on and completed the XST cabinets (XST=Xtra Smooth with Tweeter). The XST's have a single shelf port below the speakers; have a clearer and more powerful low-end than the XLT's; and have an amazingly flat frequency response from 30 to 14K as opposed to the 48 to 14K XLT. So the XST is more high-fi and has better support for low notes on 5-string basses.

When David started DNA, he first developed cabinets and, as usual, broke all the rules coming up with some amazing things. For one thing, he uses 3" voice coils on the speakers along with an extended throw. He designed a new crossover for it and come up with new textured ports for them. The DNS210 uses a flared shelf port below the speakers. Power handling is a whopping 700-watts with a frequency range of 34 to 14K (+/-3db). The D210XLT will handle 350 watts and the D210XST 500 watts (all ratings are rms watts). The DNS210 has a sensitivity of 103db and a maximum decibel level of 134db. That's really loud for a 210!

I would call the DNS210 the next evolutionary step in David's designs. It's sound is more along the line of the XST with added clarity and definition and more power handling than the XST. Plus, it is lighter in weight than the previous XLT and XST designs. As with the XST, if you want to make the DNS sound like an XLT, just add a bit of low-mids EQ to it (around 250hz to 300hz). That way you get that nice mid-hump along with greater clarity, definition, and low-end support.

It's really hard to go wrong with any of David's designs, but I have the DNS410 because I think that's the best he's done yet.
