Do Stickers Make a Bass Trashy?

I would never.......

It really is a personal thing. I'd only sticker a trashy bass of my own, but the stickers would have to be really cool. I've seen some really good looking basses that have been ruined by stickers - and some really good looking basses that're only good looking because of the stickers.

A guy I knew in a local punk band told me this trick - use clear contact over the body first to make removal easier, and then a layer over the top to stop the stickers peeling. =D

Having beautiful, valuable instruments is a burden to bear. You have to polish them, maintain them, keep them all "original," and play them gently.

Owning a low cost instrument is a joy. Have artists autograph 'em, modify 'em, and stickers are great.

I own both, and each is a joy, but you probably can figure out which ones I enjoy more.

Growing up I thought it was cool to put stickers on my basses, but now that I am older I don't. I actually peeled all the stickers off my basses, only problem is you can still see outlines of them because the basses finish has faded over time. I have nothing against people who sticker their stuff, you can do what you want. I would be really reluctant to do so on a expensive or very nice bass, but a beater as others have said do what you will.

Not my thing, but I often like seeing stickers on others basses.

I wouldn't put a bumper sticker on a show car, either. Well, maybe a peace sign on a mini bus!

that pretty much says it all... But some people do think trashy is cool.

the closest I will ever come to stickers on one of my basses was a replacement Hamer decal on the headstock of my 12 string
