i keep my bass as high as my strap will allow (granted i'm a little guy) because i like to have the bass right in front of me and be able to reach comfortably

Well, more or less whatever style I'm playing, fingerstyle or pick, I go pretty much on the high side!

some days I feel like lowering it down, so I do!![]()
I've yet to decide where to wear my bass.
If I have it high, my right arm's elbow suffers (right hander) and hurts from being bent all the time, plus I have trouble reaching the lower frets (I'm not small, but reaching all the way out for those frets with my arm hanging in the air gets tiring).
If I have it low, well I can't fret so well, but my right elbow is happy.
And medium, well, I STILL can't fret so well at medium height.
I'm not good at playing sitting down either cos of my elbow..
I guess it depends on how much your balls sag!!!somebody on here once wrote and i quote
"bass worn high: played from the heart
bass worn medium: played from the gut
bass worn low: played from the balls"
i wear mine pretty low about ball high it just feels more comfy to me i used to play it high but i always found the top of the neck uncomfy when i did

Corny photo....but you get the idea!
