Do you actually like EH?

I LOVE, read: f**king LOVE my BMS, so much so that I'm upgrading to the XO version. So yeah I'd say I love EHX, but aside form that the only other EHX pedal I've ever had was an octave multiplexer and it needed some improvements. I do think their new XO freq analyzer is going to end up on my board though.

Are you sure? They had another phaser that was the small stone's big brother that was ~$50... But the Small Stone was the cheapie - - Heck, my guitar player bought a big muff pi for $25 the same year!

I'm trying to remember that other phaser - it had a stange footswitch in the middle - same size as a Big Muff... Didn't sell well because the Small Stone was such a deal...
I might be a little off with the price because I was 14, but it wasn't any $15, that's for sure.

Was this it?

I like EHX a lot. I had only used boss for years until I hooked up my old boss octave pedal and hated it. I searched and found the big Polyphonic Octave Generator (love that name lol) After that, my old Tubeworks Real Tube "failed" and I bought a Hot Tubes. These two pedals from the VAST amounts of sounds and tones, have me convinced that I will probably be an EHX supporter for the rest of my time as a musician.

I've loved EHX for as long as i've had effects. My first was a Big Muff USA that a friend bought me for my birthday years and years ago. I rehoused it a while back and it's still with me to this day. Eventually I'll get around to doing a caps change out to make it more bass friendly, but I'm quite pleased with the sound that I can get out of it. Just recently got a nano small stone and nano bassballs to replace the two larger versions that I had a while back because I missed the sound. I also have a Micro POG on my board, and absolutely love it for it's small footprint and dead on accurate tracking. For me, it seems that every time EHX comes out with something new, I get a GAS attack for it. :help: (totally want the voice box, but to use with acoustic guitar)

I'm a big fan of their graphic design choices- most of them are very cool and have a bit of a 70s throwback thing going for them, and I'm also a fan of many of their pedals. The customer service I've gotten through them has been great as well. Their latest version of the website is also constantly updated. Great company in my book.

I mentally group EHX with ZVex pedals -- big idea guys, you know? Sometimes they're not as practical as other pedals but the sounds tend to be bold and new. Plus, they have cool names and looks in common.

So yeah, I like them, although I'd probably never have more than one or two on my board at a time.

It's love, for sure. I've owned over 20 EHX pedals-vintage, new, and used-and I've never had reliability issues. Ever.
Their quality control has been exceptional in the last twenty years that I've been using their stuff.

I even have a fetish for their big box pedals. I have a Poly; a DEM and a BMS are currently on the way.

The first time I discovered self-oscillation was on a Poly. I still get goosebumps every time I think of that moment. I have it on tape somewhere...might just dig that out and listen to it today.:bassist:

i love EHX although i have only one pedal by them but its my favorite brand now and am surely getting a couple of more EHX pedals. some of their pedals could be useless to us but most are very intelligent designs i mean just check out that EHX big bass muff and its price tag or even the SMMWH. true bypass on all nano series pedals!
