Do you have a 'brand'?

I don't really feel that attached to any one company when it comes to instruments. Fender has suited my needs pretty well on several fronts. But that hasn't kept me from playing instruments from Ernie Ball/Musicman, Epiphone or NS Designs. And I may very well be on the verge of getting a Gibson. Plus, I've been seriously researching instruments from Modulus, Lakland, Warwick and others.

The same goes for amplification, effects, strings and so on. I even passed up a possible opportunity at a string endorsement because I'm not really loyal to any one string manufacturer. I buy what suits my needs, regardless of the brand.

So when it comes down to it, my brand loyalty is to the one that matters the most in my own endeavours: ME.

I like 34" scale. 18-19mm. Passive P bass pickup and location. So my fender and squier pair is about where I'm at. Though I haven't tried enough to really commit. I want to try a dingwall and some better actives soon. But my Eden wtdi does a good job of "activating" my passive basses.

Warwick, best feel, playability, hardware, and looks in the business. I love the growly tone too, which they rule in as well. The odd time I want a warmer tone, I can just change to passive electronics and put on flats.

I'm trying to keep myself from becoming a Fender only guy, but they just work so well for so many different styles. If I didn't love Spectors so much, I would stopped fighting it already. I also love Stingrays, Dingwalls, MTDs, and F-basses. But, the Fender meet my needs and the Spectors meet my wants, so I guess I am a Fender/Spector guy.

No I don't think I actually do. I do most of my current playing on Modulus', but there is one that I do prefer and I love the sound, but it is the only Modulus that I really just absolutely love. My Bassstar is my "Brand". It is the perfect sound and feel for me. 34" Scale. 1-3/4" nut. 2-1/2" heal. 16mm spacing.

Used to be Ibanez - I've owned six - but after my wife bought me a custom Carvin for my 50th birthday four years ago, I've bought two more Carvins and sold all the Ibbys. If I ever buy another Carvin, it will likely be a five-string fretless.

Spector Euros and EBMM Stingrays are all I play these days. My Fender am jazz, Ibanezes and other misc stuff just collect dust. I've sold 3 basses from the collection since I started buying Spectors, just didn't need them anymore as they weren't getting played.

Though I have a basement populated with Fender stuff, if I had to go with a brand it would be G&L. When I build basses, I use G&L pickups.

My favorites all happen to be older Warwick 5'ers. Their neck profiles just work for me. I change the pups in them though. Just ordered Nordstrand jazzes for my '02 corvette. I'm going to pair it with an Audere 4-band preamp (yes, in that tiny cavity). I'm not exclusive to them but that is just the way it is. I do miss my NS2000/5...now that I can handle heavier basses again.

I mainly Play out of a Peavy or a Fender Jaguar Modern player. But I would Really love RickenBacker. Just the feel in my hands and how the tone almost always sounds amazing. Many argue they are high maintenance, But I'm well skilled with setting up and cleaning pots out of a bass replacing, the goods. It's almost like an expensive sports car. It's Nice but you have to take good care of it for it to last.

it used to be ibanez 100%, but i sold them all and bought a fender jazz since it was the only thing i could get my hands on at the time, and everyone i was listening to played a jazz.

now im hooked on the p or j style, but will happily play any clone that is a brick shithouse.

j is a fender, p is a warmoth.
