Do you have a stage name?

I’ve only ever known two musicians who had stage names.

One was involved in criminal activity, and wouldn’t let his real name be used in any introductions or programs. The other did a lot of contract sub work, and always used a fake name and Social Security number, to dodge the IRS, so kept up the ruse while on the job.

I think there's a difference in using an honestly acquired nickname and picking a random "stage persona" out of thin air. A nickname is ok, the invented identity is cheesy unless it's some sort of theatrical theme to the group (even then sometimes it's questionable)

This, coming from someone with the nickname "Dr. Love"?!! :D

That's okay; Just kidding around with you. Due to my (ahem) prolificacy as a younger lad, I got saddled with the nickname "Cap'n Love". The "Cap'n" coming from my love of the breakfast cereal and the "Love" for obvious reasons. That nickname still pops up from time to time. I wonder which of us holds rank, by title?
