Do you or Beck support OWS?

Yeah, I think I'm out fellas. I used to do this on conservative blogs--argue with people who, for the most part, were wrong about everything. I found that it just raised my blood pressure and ticked them off. So I gave it up. No reason to start it up again here. I've already said more than my piece.

Back to music.

Hey man, you are the main reason I stayed in. Great posts. Now, I'm I'm gone, too. :hiding:

It's all quite simple really as more and more people either work for or are supported by govt programs or jobs the revenue source for all of that gets smaller and smaller. Government is a net consumer not a producer of wealth. In order to increase wealth (not money) you MUST increase and grow the private sector. The government does not OWE anyone anything except the OPPORTUNITY for you to succeed by having as few barriers as possible in place. EVERYONE should be allowed to succeed (or fail) based upon their own talents and drive.

I disagree. So do all Democratic Socialists. The Government can be a job creator and provider of a social safety net. Read history i.e., The New Deal. We are all better off when we are all better off.

Newsflash to the OWS people: the economy sucks. 100 PERCENT of the people are paying the price. You shouldn't demand cheaper stuff and a job just because it sucks. Everybody's feeling the pain.

How I miss George's amazing commentary. I wonder what he would have to say if he was here today.

Seems to me George hit the nail on the head years ago. It's only now that so many Americans are waking up to the reality he was presenting. George was right, this didn't happen recently, been going on since "trickle down economics" rolled off Reagan's lips... ...and the great screwing of the American middle class began.

I didn't appreciate George when he was alive, he always seemed too angry for me. I see...I think many people see...that he had a right to be. And 110% correct in his analysis of the situation...

Here's what's going to have to happen...greed must stop. We must all get comfortable with the idea that there just isn't enough money to go around, we must be willing to make less, the corporations are going to have to be willing to make less, the government can't be on the take...

In other words, we're screwed.

Jimmy, You are correct about the govt. on the take. We can't keep feeding the beast that created most of this mess to begin with.

LOL. Can I use any of those for my sign?

Our government is in the back pockets of big business, politicians bought & paid for. Trying to fix what's broke by voting in other politicians that are also owned by big business & the 1%ers won't fix anything. Not sure what will...but no matter who wins a year from now, it'll be business as usual for the people at the top...and those who cater to them...meaning our elected oficials.
