I actually like the look of them a lot better with F holes -

Cool-looking, yes, but whether that translates into better playability or better sound, I doubt it. I wouldn't pay a whole lot more for it ....
I've never been a fan of the looks of them. Well, actually, I think the BODY looks fine, but I've always hated the looks of the tuners. But I was shocked by both the playability and the sound. They feel and
Aesthetically pleasing but are they practical and comfortable to play? I, personally, wouldn't buy one.
Yes. Surprisingly comfortable to play. ALTHOUGH... In my case, I have a strap button on the top horn. I hate basses where the neck side strap button is at the neck heel. But with the button on the top horn, it's very comfortable to play, and extremely light. (Mine is 6 lbs., 1.7 oz.)
