Do you wear a watch when you play?

The Hamilton Ventura is a favorite gig watch. Very light, compact and an interesting piece of jewelry. It’s a great watch. Mainly worn an Omega Seamaster 120 the last 25 years but the last couple a manual wind bronze Hamilton Khaki has been the daily wear.
Back when I wore a wrist watch, I always took it off when I played. I don't like the added tension on my wrist, or the added mass.
For a while I carried a pocket watch, so it was not an issue. When I got a cell phone, I pretty much stopped using watches. I guess the exception is I wore a Polar heart rate monitor when running. Haven't even used a Polar for a really long time.

I'm one of those weirdo right handers who wears the watch on my right wrist. I have not worn a watch for a while though; I imagine it would interfere with my plucking.
I was an avid watch wearer until I was in my mid 20s, I even had a few pretty nice ones. One day I just decided it was a bit of a nuisance stuck to my wrist all the time, and stopped wearing them. Haven't worn one since.
No real story I guess, I loved them, and then I didn't. I do still find myself noticing a nice one every now and then.

Originally I would always take my Apple Watch off whenever I was playing, thinking it would be a hindrance. But then I left it on a few times and found it wasn't, so now I usually don't bother and just leave it on.
Christian McBride doesn't have any "wrist dive" (lol) issues with those big ass watches he wears.

I only wear a watch when I have to. In my personal case that is when I do watersports and need to track the time because of training, a scheduled time when I have to be back or when I'm teaching. I have a watch that meets the criteria. It is robust enough to stay on my wrist doing sports, it shows the time and it's waterproof.
I sometimes like to keep track of time when playing, but I'd much prefer a watch on my pedalboard than on my wrist, where I cannot really look at it without compromising my playing.

I used to care and take out my watches and/or my wedding ring...now I don't

Nice! Mine has a black leather band but, when it’s time to replace it, I think I’d prefer stainless steel. Probably won’t be too long. I think the reason for my existence is to sweat, so I’ll probably destroy the band quickly.
