Do you wear a watch when you play?

Watches would seem like a non-issue for playing, rings however…

I wonder if there’s anything gig-useful that you could use a smart watch for.
There's metronome apps I've used for practice, Pulse i think it was called, makes the watch vibrate in time, but wasn't a strong enough vibration to really be useful for me. As for gig-useful, not sure, maybe could do something cool with a glowing light changing as you move?

Apple Watch most of the day when it isn’t charging. I don’t see where wearing one or not wearing one would matter any more than briefs or boxers? I don’t like wearing a wedding band when I play until I switched to a silicone band. The Groove Life wedding bands are well worth the extra bucks.

For many years I thought a watch would be an obstruction in my playing. Until last week… I wore an old Tag Heuer with a metal band and after an hour of playing realized I had left it on.

If you play with a watch let’s see it.

I did a long time ago, but I stopped on someone’s advice that the additional little bit of compression from the watch could effect what’s going on with your tendons and contribute to tendinitis, so off it went.

maybe you can make it out in the avatar: a citizen watch. it's flat/thin, it works. i think i've worn this one for 10-12 years. i've been through a couple of watch bands, but the watch is perfect for me.

i've always worn a watch, but since retirement: i don't put it on when i'm just putzing/futzing around the house... but i never leave home without it!

No.

If I'm playing at home I can check one of the many digital clocks in the house (cable box, microwave, cell phone, oven or computer). If I'm playing a show I ask the guitarist since he keeps his cell phone on his amp but I'm on "set time" so I rarely ask.

I never wear a watch. I've been able to tell time pretty much plus or minus half an hour since I was six years old. It's interesting to see the poll results pretty evenly divided. Not being a watch wearer, I'd think that if a watch was part of a person's normal daily attire, which I think it is for most people, then I can't see why one would remove it to play their bass.
