Does a VH/Roth reunion without Michael piss you off?

Well, it would be nice to have Michael around. I can't help but think though that maybe he is better off just out of this whole thing.

I expect this tour will fall apart before the second week anyway.
Michael Anthony has put up with enough crap already.
As for his bass playing, he wasn't that flashy, but he was rock solid 100 percent of the time.
Eddie also did a few bass tracks on OU812 IIRC. Which I think would be a little insulting, to say the least.

Does it really matter? When reunions like this happen, it makes me think that the members have run out of $ and they are coming back to the well to take another drink.
There is enough new music other here with concert tickets that are affordable. It would be better if VH made news with some new music and not with who or who isn't playing with the band.

As a bass player, yes it makes me mad, it's not the first time a bass player is expendable (Zepplin & Queen reunions)
The sad truth is non musician fans probably don't really care, unless the bass player is the lead singer or an icon like JE. Yeah they might feel sorry a bit, but that's about it. It just means more money in their pockets, loosing another opinion as well.

No one has mentioned how totally cordial, gracious and warm Michael was (as was Sammy) at the RRHOF induction ceremony in his comments about Ed having a speedy recovery. A total standup guy. Ed's out of his mind.

Van Halen's become nothing more than a parody of itself. It's really sad to say that there are many tribute bands that sound better than the Van Halen of now. It's also sad to see the VH brothers burning bridges with friends and fans alike.
I'd rather see Mike, Sammy and Gary Cherone than this abomination called Van Halen.

And the removal of MA from the cover art is simply childish. Most certainly VH will self-destruct (probably before this tour even happens), and good for Mike that he won't be wrapped up in it!
Not to mention that MA was a founder of the group. It's not right that he just got tossed aside like that after nearly 30 years.
I agree with you on the Led Zeppelin one, but I don't with the Queen one. John Deacon retired, but gave his blessing to Brian May and John Taylor to do the tour. Plus the guy they chose totally rips playing the lines live.

I never cared about VH or Anthony. Still, he is definitely the guy for that band. It's hard to imagine anyone substituting (much less the guitarist young kid who may or may not be able to play.) Who's going to do all those vocals - are they hiring backup singers?
But regardless of all that they will sell a zillion tickets because Roth is back and I'm sure for a lot of the diehards that makes it "legitimate."

I agree with you, it always seems like the drummer and the bassist chairs are fit to be taken by anyone who can play the songs, with no regard given to the "authenticity" of the reunion!

Ever notice how Eddie still acts as though this is some kind of garage band? He loves to create drama for the sake of drama and kicks out/brings in players based on his whims. For me, he's just one unprofessional guy and always has been. Sure he was a 'pioneer' in his day, but throwing MA out of the band was yet another in a long list of immature decisions.
I like MA as a rock bassist - he had image, was integral with his unique backing vocals and stayed in the pocket well with a completely overrated drummer.

Van Hagar was tolerable.

But I've zero desire to see Geriatric Halen and spawn.

These guys' egos just destroyed their minds, long time ago. I wouldn't be surprised that they cancel the tour half way because Eddie and David Lee Roth got into a fight. Watch. . .
I hope that Sammy and Michael have been wise with their money and are now enjoying their retirement (with the casual Hagar tour) as normal human beings.
