Do I have to move it to the venue?

I almost exclusively only play through DIs into PAs now. I have a rumble 500 V2 with 2 115 cabs. I like it a lot. The only time it will leave my house is if I am playing at a venue that doesn’t have a PA, and so far I haven’t had to do that yet.

I don't really play in any groups yet, I mostly plan to play just anything to get my foot in the door, but the genres I aim for are on bass guitar: Funk, Jazz-Fusion, R&B, Light Rock, Metal etc etc. It would really depend on the group but being a college student I imagine most who dorm (I commute) can't really bring rigs and it's also a pain in the butt sometimes. I would love to aim for smaller, I have eyed Phil Jones and Markbass, Markbass seems to be for me as of now. If I could test a Phil Jones I would get it in an heartbeat, I also play upright, I haven't had much time now and had to return it back for rental, but I would love a hybrid amp kit. So I would so small, and probably will stick with that. But hell once I have a house and can fit an upright bass, I would love to get a fridge amp for the hell of it. I also just like compact kits a lot, thinking doomsday musician I guess XD!

I ASSumed that folks would read the opening post, and maybe even a bit of the thread before responding.

I'll try to not make that mistake again.

Let me get this straight. You post a two option poll with language mocking anyone who chooses the option that doesn't conform to your obvious bias. Then you firmly disrespect the community at large by not respecting the tradition of including a "carrots" option.

And you expected this thread would go WELL?

Keep those tophat knobs away from me :vomit:

I couldn't do the kind of Post-It sized rig the OP suggests because my night vision is diminishing with age and seeing tiny controls on a dark stage would be a challenge for me.

That said, I value both portability and the ability to move a little air. That's why my current rig is perfect: It's a Peavey MiniMax v2 head into two Bergantino 1x12s. Even in the alt-metal band I used to play in (meaning: we had loud guitarists), my pee-wee rig cut through. Often times, I only needed one of my cabs, even at some of our bigger gigs.
