Dumb Craig's List Ads pt.4: Dumber and Dumbest

Living here in Maine there are only about 3 musicians anyway so our craigslist musicians classifieds are pretty bland. Unless you live in Portland or southern maine it's a pretty dull to non-existent music scene.
My only experience with a crazy craigslist add was by a guitarist looking for a band. He had the "gonna be famous" attitude which was a big no-go for me. I watched a video he attached out of curiosity and his timing was about as accurate as a brick in a washing machine. It kinda sucks because he was the only other musician within 50 miles (not an exageration) and I still can't find anyone to play with.

I love Tony as much as the next bass player but my mission in life?

Don't you just hate it when people can't recognize a Gretch when it's right in front of them?

Hey buddy, you've got Gretsches and Guilds confused.

Ron Jeremy must be facing hard times if he's selling $40 basses. At least it seems that he's probably still working based on that last line.

Put crooked inlay stickers on your bass, and watch the offers roll in for 5 times its worth.

This is a top of the line fender jazz bass. i would have liked to have it sold , and i have had offers of 4,000 dollars, but i have not taken any of those. i am very intrested in old classic cars, boats, and motorcycles. please email me if you have any of those three things to trade for the bass, i regret not taking the 4,000 dollar offer, so i will also sell it for 3,500 dollars, and put it up for barter.
thanks ryan

....those fat ass beer drinking pot smoking or the Thin skinny ass coke heads I love them and can't play without them..... lol. . .
. . . but try to keep your solo's under 5 minutes ....Ass Hole's......"

LMAO! I was eating Sunflower seeds and they flew out of my mouth in all directions!

I thought it was probably just his laptop cam that skewed the pics because they're also reversed. After looking for figured top Jazzes, I'm pretty sure it's a Select Jazz. There are a couple details that aren't likely to be faked, the little badge on the back of the headstock, string retainer on the A, correct tuners, serial number. Pics also made those inlays look off, an without binding I thought they were decals.

Dude is still out his damn mind for asking $3500 for that bass, especially with those pics. They're $2300 brand new.

Fender Select Jazz Bass (Amber Burst) - Welcome to Sweetwater ...

I was wondering about distortion...cheap'ish cams use cheap'ish optics resulting in cheap'ish images, and laptop-cam lenses are about this > < big usually...so yeah, good point. Assuming that a laptop-cam is what was used...in any case, I doubt it was shot with a Nikon DSLR.

The reversal I had put down to homeboy just not paying attention to fiddly little bits like image accuracy, after realizing that it was not a lefty to begin with.

I put a piece of electrical tape over the cam on my laptop.

I fear the day this thing goes Maximum Overdrive on my ass and takes some compromising pics in the bedroom and sells them on the internets, all by itself.

I don't do Chat Roulette anyway, so I'm not missing the feature.

For those who aren't aware of the many merits of stand ownership, allow this gentleman to school you:

This will hold your guitar up.
- prevents guitar from falling
- shows guitar you care about it
- tells other players you know your ****
- maintains proper spinal alignment for guitar
- works for electric and acoustic guitars
- keeps guitar from gathering dust when you are too lazy to practice
- conveniently folds down
- has vintage rubber tubing to protect itself from getting marred by your guitar
- pretty good shape although most likely has held a guitar or two previously
- neck is ajustable
- lower supports are not that crappy floppy type that everyone hates, this bad boy is sturdy and will do it's job without complaining

Douchebag scammers go ahead and email me it takes like one second to hit delete and I'm not creative enough to put clever catchphrases like SALAMI in the ad to make sure you're a real person.

Yes, I probably still have it.

KEYWORDS: guitar stand, geetar stand

Very good representation and presentation in the photos to boot.
