My days as musician are over, so I´m selling my beloved guitar, it is a Gibson SG Replica... now I want to start over in the world of photography, so I need a decent digital camera

The interesting thing about this replica is that it was made in Ensenada by a luthier who works in Fender, so it is a first quality guitar.

It was built under my specifications, it features a one pieced solid body, a DiMarzio Destroyer pickup in the neck and a Seymour Duncan pickup in the bridge, new machine heads, original Gibson bridges and volumen/tone knobs... Looks and sound like the real thing, it is way better than a Ephiphone (I actually took it to Guitar Center a couple of days ago to replace the machine heads and they didn´t recognize it was a replica at first sight until I let them know... they valuated it in 500 dlls even knowing it was a replica, I´ve got the ticket.)

I actually spent up to 500 dlls on my guitar, of course time has worn it off as any other musical instrument in constant use, but it´s still in great shape... so here´s the deal: I need a decent, semi pro digital camera, I´d like to trade my guitar for a camera around the 300-400 dlls, I consider it fair, or I sell the guitar for 350 dlls, so I can buy a camera...

In looks and sound, people will hardly recognize between a replica and an actual Gibson, this was made by the people that actually makes Fender guitars, has top quality pick ups, original Gibson pieces.... long story short, it is a great guitar. If you´re interested let me know and we can meet up at any place in LA, so you can check out the guitar....

PS: As you know, the older a guitar gets, the better it sounds and becomes more valuable; but the older an electronic device (such a digital camera) gets, the more it devalues... so if you have a camera you bought in 2004 for 400 dlls, it doesn´t means its actual value is 400 dollars... so I´d take a camera depending on the price and date it was bought. Anyway if you have a camera let me know....

Not too much BS, honestly. He is letting buyers know that it is a fake, it looks good, and he is asking a reasonable price. I think this ad is just fine.

No self-respecting luthier would produce that instrument. A 13 y/o in China making $3 a day definitely would.

Well, sure, but he isn't asking for a price that suggests that the instrument is of that caliber. His price fits in more with your "kid in China" assertion, which makes the whole thing seem pretty reasonable. I would never buy it, because that body isn't right, but this does not seem like a dumb ad.

I will give the guy that he is being somewhat forthcoming about that guitar's legitimacy, but I don't buy his made by a Fender Mexico luthier story one bit. His plea in the PS is pretty dumb and very cheesy. Except in rare cases, recent instruments do not gain value.

And besides, you could easily get a used Epi '61 SG with aftermarket pickups for the same price if not cheaper, and not have a complete bastard with a misshapen body and headstock on your hands.
