Could it really be just this easy?

It Shouldn't Be This Difficult, Should It? (Orlando)

The requirements are simple: play BASS, learn the song list, let's go!

We are a classic rock band who has had more stops and starts than a car with 300K miles on the odometer. Is it Groundhog day? Are we in the movie Spinal Tap? Stop this bus, we want off.

Can you learn a couple of new songs a week? Can you play nice in the sandbox with the other kids? Do you sing in the shower?

Great. Send clips, links and whatever else you think we might want to know about you. (Shower singing is not a requirement, by the way.)

Hello, I am Uber Mensch. Read Nietzsche and you'll know what it means.

My experience has taught me that people who quote Nietzsche either:

A. Have never actually read Nietzsche but know that he was a "rebel" and have Googled a few of his quotes.

or

B. Have read some of his works, absolutely don't get them, but pick out a couple of bits and pieces that they think sound cool.

Kevin Kline's character in "A Fish Called Wanda" is the perfect personification of this special brand of douche nozzle.

Either this ad is indeed sharp satire, or it is the equivalent of a drunk girl standing on a chair in the middle of the room flashing her cans essentially screaming, "Hey, everybody, look at me!!!"

+1 for the epic use of the term "douche nozzle". Adding that to my repertoire starting immediately. I love this thread.:hyper:

Carvin BX 500 Bass Head - $350 (Bakersfield)
Date: 2012-02-23, 2:04PM PST
Reply to: [email protected] [Errors when replying to ads?]
Brand new Carvin BX 500 Bass head in box. Box is unopened. We had one break, and Carvin would only exchange the unit rather than refund our money. We decided to go with a different head instead, so we're selling this one UNOPENED IN BOX. It's a 500 watt head if you run it at 4 ohms. Here's a link to Carvin's page with the specs on this amp: Invalid Link Removed It's $350, cash in hand and you can take the box. "We" are Buck Owens Productions, so rest assured, this isn't a box of rocks that I'm trying to unload. It's a real amp with diodes and transistors and knobs and everything. And it's brand new. Box hasn't even been opened.

Please note, I am not an idiot, and if you send me some email with really spotty formal English telling me that you want to buy it, and will pay me extra to remove it from the site right now, and want to pay with a cashier's check, I will sign your email address up for Daily Cat Facts. Likewise if you send me a message saying you're out of the country on some mission to the Congo or something, but really want this amp so you can drop some beats in a Kinshasa hotel lounge, your email address will be sent to NAMBLA.

So everyone who is serious about buying this amp, send me an email and we can work out a time when you can pick this thing up. You'll be coming to the BOPC building, so you don't have to worry about getting mugged or anything. Just, we do have stairs to navigate, so there's that.

Old Fart (Vista)

Old fart guitar player who needs to practice more and can't "Make It" due to other obligations wants to keep the dream alive if only for a couple hours a month. Looking for other players who are in the same boat as me. If you are signed or almost signed or were in the best band ever and have demoes that would peel the paint off a new car then we probably aren't a match. I can't tell you how many horrible demo's I have heard over the years. Lets face it. The reason we aren't famous is most of us are horrible song writers. So if you suck like me lets get together and jam. After all it is all about fun correct?

This one wasn't too bad...

"If you take yourself too seriously, this isn't for you...

If you're planning on going on tour tomorrow and living on the road 10 out of 12 months, this isn't for you.

If you're a half-assed musician, can play a couple of licks, want to have a good time and make some music, then that's a start. Being able to do this while consuming a beer is good, too.

No crabby teenagers, no grizzled roadies. I got a basement and some recording equipment. Also got a day job, so this isn't an all or nothing deal. No death metal, no Christian Rock. I'm game for about anything else.

But if you're planning on taking over the world like Wyld Stallions, that's cool, too."

Hurry this GUITAR wont last! (Ky)

I have a new-but not abused 2012 telecaster, bought it new for 799.99 so my lost if going to be your gain! The neck says made in china but the music store I bought it from said it was a stamping error and it's actually a USA which should make it more valuable being a miss-stamped guitar. I bought it back in 1998 and only played it twice since in the two gigs we had schedule, once in 98 at grandma's house and the last gig we did in 2011 at grandma's house.

How on earth could it be a 2012 telecaster that was purchased in 1998!?!

This HAS to be a joke.

How do I know that this isn't actually a relic'd re-issue? Or a Chinese knockoff?

...ad has pics, btw...

Obviously he measured overall length from top of headstock to tail strap nut, which is just about 39"-40" and not the nut to bridge length.
That said, if the item is new and still in box, how did he measure it, with x-ray?
Also, this is no deal. You can buy the same with guarantee from most any store, cheaper and/or a MIM strat for that.

A friend of mine in Minneapolis shared this on a drum forum. I thought that all of you would enjoy it as well.

"Here's the deal:
I am going to play a drum solo the whole time.
You can play whatever you want--I won't be listening to you."
