Does anyone have any idea what kind of bass this guy could be talking about? 3 pickups? 2 selector switches? Is there such a beast out there or does he just have no idea what he's talking about?

I sent him an email asking (before I read the "no emails please") for some pics. We'll see if we get anything...

This is a used fender (not squier) jazz bass. I bought it a couple years ago in hopes of finding more time to play but it just sits around in my old jam room. My friend who plays broke the bottom string, so it will need a new one, probly a new set while youre at it. A few dings but overall great shape guaranteed satisfaction. I got several calls, but nobody came out to look at it--here are some questions i was asked to help clarify: Color: off white/cream 3 pickups Japan made 3 volume/tone knobs and 2 pickup selector switches Pickup only price is pretty firm but if you make the right deal and do it fast we'll talk--i need to sell this stuff to make space

It is an April fool's link...

I saw that link also (Google image search, right?) and almost fell for it until I saw the date and comment. All the other Jags pictured had what look like a Jazz config. I've only seen, and played, one Jag myself (@GC) and/but don't really remember how it was set up.

About now, I'd love to see a pic of the bass in question...my curiosity bump is kinda-sorta pulsing.

I am trying to start a band. I write songs, I play guitar, and I sing. I would like people who that aren't very experienced because I have never had my own band before and I dont expect professionals to want to be in a band that isnt going to pay anytime soon. I am just looking for people who feel the need to be creative and want to be in a band. If you own an instrument thats good enough for me. If you write and want to sing that is also fine. I am basically looking for people who want to get together and be creative with whatever you can bring to the table. fiddle,guitar,bass,drum, brass,kuzoo,whatever. I can show you what to play or we can collaborate. But like I said , no professionals,no squares, and no pigs.

A little about me so you know what to expect.
I am 25, I like all varieties of American music from folk to rap. Its hard to narrow down favorite artist but I can tell you what is in my cd player right now. I have the Yeahx3s, the squirrel nut zippers, AiC,and The Doors. I listen to Ktru alot when I dont have a cd player. I have no job but I do work on occasion. I dont have no schoolin, and I kind of suck at life in general, I am an insomniac and a potjunkie, but I play sober and awake most of the time. I don't understand what's so terrible about that one... He's a beginning musician who wants to grow musically with others on he same level. There's no need to ridicule him...

I am a bass player with a home recording setup with talent and knowledge gives me everything I need to make excellent recordings. I lack the abilities to play other instruments. awesome bass though (think McCartney)I don't wish to do simple tracks. but over dubs and layers and all that .

I am older but still fun The recording is the most important thing but we will be spending a lot of time together. And this is where it gets weird. I am 420 friendly so for sure there will be some of that going on. And maybe I will allow some beer but the intent is to record not party. And I'm Bi. so man or woman I will be attracted to you and will hit on you. If you are not comfortable with this then don't bother. This is not an add for sex and druggs with a little rock and roll added this is Rock and roll with acknowledge stress breaks.

That happens ALL the time on my local CL. People get really fired up about it to and post all these ads calling the guy selling the Squier a scam artist, trying to pass off a Squier as a Fender, and that they are jerks trying to rip people off and get more than what it's worth, blah blah blah.

9 times out of 10, the people just probably have absolutely no idea what they are selling and don't realize the difference.
