I understand that no bassist around here wants to play melodic rock (with blues).

We have put out so many ads, got so many responses, but NO ONE showed up to audition.

I am asking for the last time: will any bassist join a band which plans to start gigging in February/March?
Ah, yes, nothing makes me want to join a band like "NO ONE likes us. We're DESPERATE and about to give up!"

How about today's lovely thread titles:
Nerd band looking for drummer
Bass Player with no time to jam wanted
BADDEST BASS PLAYER ON MY STREET - LOL
Dayjobber looking for friends, I'll be short, I'm on my iPhone

- you do not have a big ego, bad attitude or secret plans to rule the world through a band that exists to serve only your inevitable assent to superstardom.

Profanity ruin:

Something tells me these guys are going to be looking for a while. Sounds like they've had a frustrating search too. From the first part of their listing:

"This is a newer project; there is no website yet, and there are no sound clips at this time so don't ask. Set lists will cover 70's to present - alternative, classic, hard, and modern rock. Possibility of original material being added down the line.

Current band members all have 10+ years experience. We are talented, driven & dedicated. We all work hard, practice our asses off and have a great time doing it! Our ages range from 27 - 40. We have pro gear and a secure practice space with a PA.

While we do not believe we are 'the ****', nor do we aspire to quit our day jobs to be rock stars, we are good at what we do and will give it all we got when we hit the stage!

Warning; what follows may appear demanding, but we know what we are looking for and have ZERO time to waste on immature hacks. So if you are easily offended, stop reading now. If you keep reading and become offended, **** you, too bad, you were warned. If you have a superior attitude and think you need to express a nasty opinion of our post, don't bother, because we don't give a **** what you think.

We are only interested in musicians who fit the following requirements, yeah that's right we said it - requirements. If that pisses you off, too bad, we don't care."

Not an ad but I find it kind of funny and sad at the same time.

All you idiots need to stop putting just fender in your ad title when you really have a squier. There is a big difference between a real fender and a squier. When I see fender, I check it out until I see its really just some piece of **** squier that you tricked people into looking at by just saying fender in your ad. Nobody wants your piece of **** squier which is one of the cheapest guitars you can get and nobody is gonna pay over a hundred when they cost a little more than that new.

I see a version of that about once a month here and yeah, it's sad that these folks feel it necessary to 'protect' the public like this.

Well he is right and he is wrong.

If you never mention in your ad that it is a Squier, then you're attempting to scam people, voluntarily or not.

If you mention "Fender Squier", you will be fine. It says "Squier by Fender". It's cut and machined following Fender templates, just put together with a little less TLC.

My Strat is a Squier and I always joke with my guitarist that my $50 Squier Strat from the pawn shop sounds as good as his Les Paul.

In my mind it's not *really* as good, but it's closer that it is in his mind.

I think someone who wants to just start bass, or a guitarist who just wants to have a bass to have fun with or for demos will absolutely not care if it is a Squier or the real thing.

I am looking for a fretless and next one for around $100 on CL I will buy, even if it is a Squier, because it's just to experiment with and see if it's for me.

Elaborating on what I said up there a bit - what I should have said was that there is one person around here somewhere who almost seems to be actively looking for Squier ads just so he can jump on the ad's poster and rip him a new one over it. The ad will be something like "...I'm selling my Squier by Fender whatever, it's this and this, and I want this much for it..." and Mr (Ms?) Accurate will spend three, four, five paragraphs chewing the poster out for '...intentionally deceptive advertising, ripping off musicians, reporting you to C/L mods, etc etc etc..."...you can almost hear him/her foaming at the mouth as (s)he does this. (S)He does the same thing in Epiphone ads also. A few weeks ago, someone else posted a to suggest that (s)he need a regimen of decaf and Thorazine...

Next time one pops up, I'll post it here.

Based on the description in this ad; how many guitar picks come with this set?
