Any audio examples of Wizard Fuzz and Witchfinder on bass gratefully received.

Late to the reply here but…
I’ve posted these before but I’ll pop them up again. Each track was cut with a Wizard Fuzz on bass. I need to get cracking on something more current.
FYI - the band name is not for everyone. If you’ve got sensitivities, you might not want to click the sound cloud links.

Very nice :)

The pen.is mightier then the sword, so they say.

Tuesday...

But I'm still not sure I can justify it. I just removed the DIY version from my board, and it seems like it would be better for bass than the one currently for sale. I may have to try and justify a Way Huge Atreides instead. I don't have ANY synth stuff...
I know your DIY pretty well ;) and can imagine it would get you pretty close - especially when there are fun boxes like the Atreides out there to try. I missed that DIY, which is why I pulled the trigger on one of the HM-2 in this batch.

Yeah, it's fantastic! It definitely does things other HM-2s don't! Which is why I'm holding on to it, even thought it's not currently being used. That, and my fanatical devotion to the circuit in general, which is also why I'm debating the second version at all...

I'd be interested in your take on this version as well. What you do/don't prefer about one or the other could be enlightening. Maybe I'll get in on another run in the future?

It finally arrived

Nice ! Curious about your thoughts compared with the V1 ? Dug this pedal, but found the breakup being a bit unpredictable probably due the germanium transistors.

The V1 gets wilder and the boosts are great at shaping tone albeit with a lot of tweaking. V2 is so blissfully straightforward and simple. I love the entire range of breakup and there’s tons of low end available even without the boost options. The drive is very touch-sensitive, too. They’re different enough for me to keep both. V2 is worth checking out if you get the chance.

Agreed. The V1 has more range but that can lead you into more time tweaking. I found sweet/sour spots with v1 but v2 seems to have kept the fundamental sound of v1 and made it more user friendly across the control continuum. I couldn’t say that I notice the 3 band split vs. the 2 band split for clipping.

I’ll probably keep my v1 for “collecting” reasons, but the but the v2 is going to be what’s on my board.

This is why I think V2 will be perfect for me. I tend to get option paralysis. Lucky me, I just received this and get to check it out...
