The parabellum is a great drive. I just couldn't strike a balance between real estate requirements of the para and my desire to use a medium sized pedal board. I now use the ODB to fill the role the para once did.
You get one drive pedal to cover your Nawlins band. Origin? ODB? Something else?
I too crank the bass knob in my ODB
I've tried to replace, or find a substitute, for the Parabellum v1 (I don't always feel comfortable gigging rare or hard to get pedals). But, nothing quite sounds like those 3 gain stages in parallel, nor has the tube-y goodness. The Edison > Halberd ain't bad, but I wish it had the Parabellum's eq
A blooped ODB (or FFXL w/ clean side low passed around 1-2k) is even better. I Iike the way it punches with the kick drum at high gain... Although, now days I run a Bongripper or Tetra-Fet in place of an ODB
What settings do you use on the Parabellum?

I tend to use the Parabellum as a low-gainer so I try to set it clean-ish and use playing dynamics for grit. It depends on which bass I'm using, but low gain settings usually revolve around treble 9-11, mids anywhere from 11-2, bass 2 w/Bass boost on. The dirt is touchy so I also run it with a compressor to attenuate and help even out the clipping.

Nice, I think something may be wrong with the bass boost on mine, when it's engaged the difference is very subtle whereas with all the other boost functions there is an undeniable difference. The toggle switch itself seems to be fine.
