For $300, it’s a good deal. Even if you have difficulty driving the iAmp200 (because it requires a balanced input with a reasonably high signal level), you can always use it as a Wizzy10 speaker cabinet by unplugging the speaker from the amp’s output jack, connecting the phone plug from the speaker to a phone jack or Speakon jack, and using a speaker cable to connect it to a stand-alone amp head.

As it requires a balanced output from a preamp, you could try powering the iAmp200 with your Micro’s DI output, but I don’t know if you will have sufficient gain to drive it to its full output. (You may have to bump up the DI output level via the trimmer pot on top of the Micro.) You will need a TRS-to XLR cable to do this.)

ironically, the Micro puts out a balanced preamp output to its internal ICEpower amp module so it can drive the amp in bridged mode. Unfortunately, without messing around with its output wires to the amp module, you have no access to the balanced output with all the gain the Micro preamp can deliver.

There is a solution to this problem: It appears that you have your DI output jack set for PRE EQ. You need to open up your Micro and move jumper JP3 to the POST EQ position. Then you ought to have use of your tone controls.

Euphonic Audio made a lot of one-offs and prototypes. Lee Sklar had a lot of EA speakers up for sale about a year or two ago. I still have a prototype iAmp1000 that never made it into production. Lee has one as well.

You still have some great gear and can run the iAmp200 from your Micro (as I explained before) or, if you made a female 1/4” to male Speakon adapter cable, simply use the internal speaker of the iAmp200 as a passive speaker for the Micro. (There’s no reason you HAVE to use the iAmp200 power amp section!) Then you’d have a Micro/ Wizzy12 rig with an unused spare power amplifier. And that is a very fine rig.

"The input was designed to accept a balanced line level signal from the iAmp200 and track the volume accordingly.
It was a clever (I think) system that unfortunately generated little interest. You could string together as many extension cabinets as you wanted.

Line level signals are all over the place in terms of amplitude so it could take some tweaking to make it work
with other signals. This input circuit could be modified to a specific level, or even to accept an unbalanced
input if one did not what to use a simply transformer. I hope this helps."

It was working well but I only had volume & gain. I’ve since flipped the jumper inside the amp and now have full control! It’s a nice little rig!

My beloved EA CXL110 cabinet that I've had for 20+ years seems to be broken
It spent a couple years sitting on a shelf unused. I believe it worked before I last put it away.
Now it seems that only the tweeter is making any sound; the low end driver is doing nothing at all.
I don't know if this indicates a driver problem, a crossover problem, or what.
Does anybody know how to tell?

And...does anybody know either if it's possible to get replacement speakers, or what a workable drop-in might be? I'm concerned that given how unusual EA's designs were, maybe there is nothing available that will really sound decent especially in the low end response.

Hard to say without some troubleshooting. I'd take out the driver and see if there are loose wires at the terminals or at the crossover, and inspect the crossover for anything that might look blown or loose. I'm not great with these kinds of things so I don't know how helpful that is LOL.

I know that there was a thread here pertaining to replacement speakers for the CXL 112 but I can't seem to find it yet. IIRC Eminence was the manufacturer of the EA drivers, so they may be able to point you in the direction of a suitable replacement if needed.
