I hope to do the next one. I was out of town the last week of October on vacation, and got back into town this past Saturday to find out that the GTG was going to be on Sunday. That was not enough time after the week's vacation to get the basses ready to bring. I was hoping that it'd turn out to be either of the next two weekends. Glad there were four ETTB'ers there! It looked to be a very good time.

That black Yamaha is my dream bass! I've always loved the Yamaha P/J basses. Whoever owns it now, if you ever want to sell it.. LMK.

Richard, thanks for making the GTG happen!

Are there any other pictures from the GTG? Or did the ones already posted cover it pretty well? Any people pics in additional to the gear pics?

(I've really got to get a different profile pic going, the one I've been using is from the second GTG in Maryville. I'll probably do that when I renew my supporting membership.)

In the FWIW category, I saw on the Knoxville Mercury website that my old high school pal Jenna Jefferson is "retiring" from performing. Any of you catch the Cool Friends live these past few years? I doubt it'll last long, she loves performing and singing too much!

Hey Michael; I brought a camera and my cell phone with me to take pics, but those were all I had. This being my first GTG, I was busy talking with everybody and checking out gear and just having a good time, and the time just flew by on me. The pics I took were in the last few minutes when everybody was wrapping up or had already wrapped up. Next time I will make sure to get good pictures of the gear first. Then as people are playing, get some "in action" shots, and of course fellowship and mingle and play myself too. I would love to have gotten some good pics of the young lady Haven playing. She loved the Warwicks I had and really loved the Fender 1972 P Bass I had just picked up. Anybody who even looked toward Richard's Reverend bass would have been a good picture of drooling.drooldrooldrool Man, was that thing beautiful and played the same. That is a keeper for a lifetime for sure.
But yeah, I for sure will get some better pics next time.

Paul is so fortunate. I don't even know if it's possible in 2015 to get a P/J in black and gold with that package from Yamaha. BB 3000.

Paul is the fortunate one with that sweet bass. I love it. I only played it for a short time, but didn't take that long to love. The spacing is a little tighter than I am used to, but I could sacrifice that and gladly put time towards playing it if it were mine. The feel of the bass and neck felt awesome. Great bass Paul!!!

Hey Paul; something I have used on my Warwicks (both the stainless steel and the gold plated tuners) to clean and protect from tarnish is the Dunlop 65 Cream of Carnauba. It comes in their cleaning packs and you might even be able to get it by itself (not sure about that). A little bit of that on a soft rag and it will get rid of anything that looks tarnished and keeps it looking clean and nice. Works better than anything I have ever tried.

Hey guys!!! Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Talkbass brethren here in East TN. I am blessed to have lived here all of my life with my family. We all have plenty to be thankful for and being here with all of the awesome people is part of it. I pray for any of you that might be traveling that the Lord God King Jesus would watch over you and keep you and your family safe. I'll follow Barry's lead and also express my thanks for all of you guys here in east Tennessee who share our love of bass. It's been a fun four years! Hard to believe in January it'll have been five. I'm glad we did this.

Holy cow ! This thread is in fact still alive. I have it marked as watched thread WITH email alerts and I get nada !

How has everyone been? I see some new rides have entered the picture. I'll have to go back and read to catch up.

I'm pretty much still putting my thing down at PCC, sharing duties with a fellow TBer.

Gear wise, it was getting so ridiculous that I have gone on a severe gear diet. I sold just about everything that wasn't being used regularly and without fail. I even sold both the uprights. The doghouse folks celebrated for week, knowing that I no longer hack away.

Stuff that made the cut.......

Dingwall Super J5 - Still my main. Still the best low B that I have ever heard on a 35.

Fender Sandblast P with Geezers installed and Chromes on it.

Added a Fender Select Precision which should be here next week.

One of the P's will go, and I'll add a four banger jazz and call it a day. Three years of buying, selling, and or trading over 60 basses, Ive come to the conclusion that after the hoopla and custom builds, I like Dingwalls, Fender P's, and J's. The irony of it all is humilating. Hahahahahaha

Amplification wise, still running the Streamie for church and small gigs. The Reiner 6SL7 for true pants flapping.

Still have the DuallyT.

Have about 50-60 dates on a new prototype cab that I am absolutely in love with. It's a sealed 1822 built by Mark Robertson at BNA Audio. It is pretty stinkin' amazing. Nothing like the 18's of yore. Still cant belive its an 18. And I'm not just saying that as I have to pony up full price just like everyone else. I keep expecting a nasty phone call from Mark telling me to stop bogarting the proto and buy my own, but it has yet to happen. Maybe I should move !

That about catches me up.
