This has been a very busy summer, I've been juggling two bands (Hillbilly Jedi and The Clint Keeton Band) that book a lot of dock side gigs. Labor Day signals the end of the dock gigs, so I'm looking forward to a) getting inside out of the heat and b) schedule slowing down somewhat.
I do have a church retreat gig I'm playing this week up at Eagle Rock. This same bunch found me last year through a craigslist ad, and when it was over asked if I would do it again next year! Awesome worship conference and always good to see young people so committed to Christ.

Good to hear it, Jeff! You usually do manage to stay busy playing. Your ETTB brethren are envious.
Where are your upcoming dock gigs? Are they open marinas, or private parties? It'd be fun to come out.
Edit: I found the Clint Keeton Band FB page: The Clint Keeton Band Good video clips! Looks like Aug. 25 is the next gig? Twin Cove Marina at 7 PM? Anybody else want to go hear 'em?

Not much happening over here in Johnson City—Little Chicago Fest is this weekend, though this year I’m just an attendee.
Couple of nights at Yee Haw coming up August 24, 25 with friends—old time, bluegrass, folk, Americana. We haven’t agreed on a set list yet.
No theater gigs until spring, I think.
How did the Fine Columbians show go, @BWB ? I had hoped to make a day of that one, but we were in Kentucky.

He's not up to much. I have an offer to fill in at an area church where I've played before while their regular bassist recovers from a broken wrist. (He's 12 years old, I think??) I am thinking on it, but sort of leaning away from it.
Also trying to get in at Webb School for their November musical.
Would love to be out there sweatin' on a dock gig! Not as glamorous as it sounds, but I always thought it'd be fun.

Jeff’s skills on them drunk-fretted 5ers will MAKE you say DANG!! Trust me!
He’s the only bassist I know that drags a (insert grotesque dollar figure) bass and a (again insert said dollar figure x 2) Phil Jones Bass rig... to a dock, to be rained on while he makes 80 bucks for 4 hours. I love his crazy @$$ !! :-DDangwellat a dock gig. Jeff is too cool!
I compromise by hauling all that gear in a 500 dollar car. Don't want any door dings on a nice ride of course.....
Grrrrrrr!!! My gal drove my BMW to a Slick Willy’s show of mine. My birthday present was her paying to fix the ding in my door. :-(
Funny you should mention, I've almost talked a famous luthier into building me one. He's hesitant because Sheldon is a pal, but everybody's making a fanned fret model these days.
Yeah, to say I was unhappy with her would be the biggest understatement on Talkbass ever. I told her if she ever drove my car to park in the farthest spot she could find. That night she was three spaces from the mother funkybass door!!!
That is true. I could grab a used fanned fret Ibanez for a very fair price.
