Greetings from Knoxville. Just stumbled upon the previous thread and the link to this one. I'll go back and read this and the previous as I have time. For those of you who are gigging, what kind of stuff are you playing and where?
Anyone selling a 15 or an 18 cab? I have a great 410 rig, it just needs some thump, and something to take some of the power off of the 410. My head is making the speakers jump to a dangerous level. I can drive to pick up.
I have an old Acoustic 370 head that I'm selling. If you guys are interested let me know. I'd rather sell it locally because shipping won't be cheap for this beast
I advertised mine on Craig's list and an entire band drove from Boston to Nashville to buy it. Not saying that will happen for you, but clearly folks are motivated to go a step beyond the norm for something they can't get every day (especially if it's in great shape).
I am looking for 4 ohm. The head is an old Earth Super Bass. All tube, made in '73. I recently changed the 6L6's to 6550's and the power is punching my Hartke 410 in the nads.
I hear ya!!! I'm currently powering some 2x10s with a woppin' 30 watts of all tube power from my Ashdown Little Bastard. It sounds louder than the 225 watt solid state amp that I once used to power them.
I don't exactly know the conversion between tube and solid state wattage, but, my lead guitarist is my amp tech, and he guesses at around 5 to 600 watts. He was the one who convinced me to switch to 6550s. Now he is wiring in a supplemental transformer, to take the strain off of the output transformer. I tried the amp out once...and blew a fuse.
Look for a used Audiokinesis TC115. They are 4ohm, take a lot of power, and have a great deal of healthy excursion built into the design of the speaker. You'll probably not want to play through your Hartke again after playing through it though.
P.S. Also make sure your amp is capable of handling the load a 4ohm cabinet will add to your system. Sounds like you have a knowledgeable amp tech so check with him if you're unsure.
Not a match, but I have a Genz 115 rated 200W @ 8 ohms in Ex cond I'd sell for $150,

Idervish; I wish I could run a genz. They are great! I will check with my tech about using 8 ohm. What are the dimensions?

TP, the 115 is 25W x 25H x 18D.
I also have a Genz 210TXB, 250W @ 8, (25W x 21H x 16D) which of course daisy-chained with the 115 is a terrific 4 ohm stack. I am more reluctant to turn loose of the 210 but you might be able to twist my arm. It has had casters added.

Hmmmm...The dimensions work for me. I have a Hartke 4200, which is angled on the back. I just measured it, and it will stack quite well. Waiting on word from Steve, my tech.
