That's what I thought. Thanks. No, they only currently do 3-band in the Specials.

Are the necks similar in shape and feel. Unusually don’t like painted necks. One reason I sold my US SUB.View attachment 4459554 View attachment 4459556 View attachment 4459555 View attachment 4459557
Agreed! I debated getting a single H but I LOVE the HH. Ended up adding a Bongo 5HH instead to add keep some variety. Very easy to switch between the two and tonally they are reasonably interchangeable but each brings it own flavor to the table and has its own strengths.
Thank you! Super helpful.
I never have the bass and treble up full. Maybe treble 70% and bass 40%.
So how do I get to a lightweight, 83' SR bass? Everything about it is just right except the weight.
Sounds like either I try to find something used and a little lighter like I have, buy a Stingray Special and swap out the pup and pre-amp, buy a Ray34 and swap out the preamp, build something from parts, other???
TIA
I would try to deal with the weight, rather than some extreme mod...they make straps for heavy bass's that really help. I have a Rockready UltraStrap 3.5 Guitar Strap and a Levy's Leathers 4 inch, both really help for long gigs and multiple 1 hr sets.Thank you! Super helpful.

This is the first time I've seen these pickup height numbers. Makes sense because the magnets are so strong. This is what they sent me for a 5 string:

I’m assuming that’s measured top of pickup to bottom so string? This is the first time I've seen these pickup height numbers. Makes sense because the magnets are so strong.
I guess these measurements are without pressing the string down.
It doesn't say whether from top of pole piece or top of plastic. EDIT: but very little difference between those two on these pickups.I’m assuming that’s measured top of pickup to bottom so string?
I’m planning to get a 2nd one in the not too distant future. I’ve got a 5 HH in smoked chrome, and I’m planning on adding a 5 H in snowy night (that’s the #1 choice for now anyway).Anyone here own more than one Stingray5 Special?
I like mine so much I want another one. Maybe I should go different woods & finish & get the HH .Same finish and woods and just get the HH is always an option too.
Anyone interested in selling your Aqua Sparkle 4H or 4HH?![]()
I might consider it, but with shipping and customs, it would hardly be economical for you.
Smoked Chrome and Harvest Orange are my current favorites.I’m planning to get a 2nd one in the not too distant future. I’ve got a 5 HH in smoked chrome, and I’m planning on adding a 5 H in snowy night (that’s the #1 choice for now anyway).
Harvest Orange is stunning too. That’s right up there with Snowy Night for me. It’ll probably come down to what’s available when I’m ready.Smoked Chrome and Harvest Orange are my current favorites.
