How do they feel? Are they stiff. The only flats I've tried are the D'Addario chromes on a Pbass and they were pretty stiff.

Do you get a better response on the B string with the regular Slinky instead of the flats? Is that why you keep the regular on the B?
Flats are generally stiffer feeling because the outer wrap is a ribbon shape, not a cylinder one. So there is more edge-to-edge contact, and therefore friction, between the wraps. With round-wounds and the like, the contact area is much smaller, to they feel looser. (Core construction also makes a difference. So does material, thickness of core, thickness of wrap, other things, etc.). So YMMV.

I have the HH with ebony and slinky’s and I find it to be beefy and not bright at all. I run my Genzler amp with a slight mid scoop contour

Yeah they were a little bright for me and I like DR Hi Beams, which are bright. It was more I didn't like the timbre of the highs actually.
So far on my Special 5H I have tried-
Slinkys it came with- sounded great but die too quickly
Cobalt rounds- sounded very good but the highs had a quality that I just didn't like. I might try them again.
DR Sunbeams- Sounded great at first but wasn't a fan as they broke in more, mids weren't quite right.
DR Hi Beams- love them, a tad bright at first but break in and sound amazing for a long time
I still want to try DR Pure Blues on the 5H. I know others like them a lot on Stingrays

I have a set of Labella low tension flats that I cut and put on the 5HH but didn’t like. A $60 mistake. Does anyone want them for say $30? I used them for about an hour

New baby that I snagged recently for a great price. 8lb 12oz. AND, I'm running the Cobalt Flats which I also enjoyed on my previous two Stingray Specials.
It's a March 2019 model. Did EBMM do the painting on these in house, or was it someone like Marty Bell? Sure is pretty.

It's the stock finish, EBMM are the best in business with their finish...and specially the spark one (many members of the SFDF (Spark Finish Defence Force) here)

Yes thanks and agreed that it's awesome. I'm aware that it was a stock finish a few year ago, but I didn't know if EBMM outsourced the work on these or did it in house.
Random question, there is a local listing with a beat up Special, the neck plate has been scratch, serial can't be read...no paper...it still looks good but I'm a bit wondering about the origin.
Is the serial number somewhere else? maybe when we detached the neck?

Not that I know of but I have never removed the neck of any of my specials. I would be suspitious.

Here is the seller picture, no certificate of authenticity, no hard case and the plate's serial scratched
Looks legit, more pics would be helpful though. It was likely stolen at one point is my best guess so far.
